These six shots are an overview of my larger portfolio that I picked out because I particularly liked them :). The first is a basic suncatcher that I made by engraving the printed side of a junk CD to let the light through. The second is entitled "Le Freaky Femme Noir" and is a colored pencil drawing (what's shown is actually a close up of the picture's face) that took about four months to do and which I was obsessively meticulous with - there are about 72 layers of color on her face and her hair's every curl was choreographed. The third shot is a weird favorite of mine. For years I've doodled "exotic" masks and this summer I began the process of recreating those masks on dolls - my "kubuki dolls" - I hope to have a considerably larger grouping by the end of the project. Fourth is another project involving engraved CDs - this is a conglomeration of 20 all attatched together with copious amounts of hot glue and silicon sealant, forming a lampshade around a hanging light (entitled "Technology IS the Wave of the Future: Hope" ). Number five is an abstract sculpture "Mermaid" made by bending a fork to my will :). The final picture is a shot of a large scale abstract painting I did this summer using a "lost-wax" technique - "Amorphica: personality" - it's really just a study in contrasting forms.
