Dear MUN Delegates and Advisors,

UC Santa Cruz Model United Nations is proud to welcome you to our 2006 UCSC MUN High School Conference. Our aim is to  increase global awareness by creating an exciting forum of debate simulating the United Nations. We  invite each delegate from beginner to experienced to take strong positions in   character to their countries while bearing in mind the spirit of diplomacy  during negotiation. UCSC MUN hopes that each committee will work together to  create resolutions that reflect the United Nations overriding goal of global solidarity. UCSC  MUN looks for topics that reflect many of the issues that currently affect   billions of citizens of our global community. We feel that the issues offered  are highly relevant to the topics that today. United Nations are  constantly working to resolve. The committees of our high school conference  will be: General Assembly, Security Council, UNESCO, WHO, and UNICEF. We hope this conference builds on the success of our first conference last year. UCSC MUN is grateful and excited by your interest in our second high school   conference and we eagerly await the ideas each delegate brings to debate.
