A.M.O.S reports on her site that Andrew from FIF is playing drums for Scott Kerr's band "Yellow Second". If you remember, Scott formerly played guitar for FIF. I'm not a FIF nerd to tell you exactly when he left, but it was post-Quantity is Job 1, and pre-FIF Live. Scott did come back for a song on All the Hype, though. Yellow-second.com would be the site of said band. Hmm, another band to our roster? Check back for any new developments.

Yes, it is our 3rd Birthday, but you will be getting the presents! (It's so unfair!) I, SuperJonk, am very pleased to announce that we will launch brand new content into the site! The first of which, mirrors FIF & OC Supertones newest musical grounds; yes that's right, we will begin covering Christian rock bands that are related to these bands! Bands like Audio Adrenaline, Switchfoot, Relient K; PlankEye, & others are already under consideration for this treatment! Expect more content! More content! *Lord willing.
Does this mean we're selling out? I'm not sure how that could be said, but no -- we are merely expanding our canvas to bring you the news that matter to you! These groups will join our roster of 6 artists: the OC Supertones, Five Iron Frenzy, the Insyderz; Flight 180, braveSaintSaturn, the Grand Incredible; as well as the defunct Dingees.
Also under consideration is a Round Table Discussion over groups and albums. Keep your eyes to RudeCentral's GodSka!
I suggest that you all delve into the following information, and go back to http://www.livejournal.com/users/superjonk for any info you have missed! You should also check out our affiliates; esp. A.M.O.S.' FIF Fans Unite site (she gets all the news that slips through my hands, and as in her most recent entry, which is a biggy)!
God bless, and a most excellent Holiday Season and New Year!

Check out July 1st's Second news story for a little news bit of joy...
Until next time, HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS!
*Do you find GodSka's news useful? Entertaining? Is it more informative or more Commentative on news you already know? Please leave a message on the "Comment On This" box for the Jonkster! I have no way of seeing how many people access GodSka through LiveJournal, so if you can, leave a comment or two! Love Skavoovie!

hey hey kids, i don't exactly nkow what to day. i know we sent out an "official" letter but that sort of takes away the personal approach to getting you all in the know. yes we are moving on to new things after the fall of 2003. pay very close attention to this: we don't want to call it "breaking up". why not? well, lets just say you kids (and all of us too) have experienced enough divorce and hurtful relationship break ups than most of us can bear. I CHOOSE to look at this as a positive thing. i am 26 now. imagine being in the same band since you were 18 until you were 27. that will be my life. the blessing God has given me is unbelievable but i do believe He has other WONDERFUL AMAZING PLANS FOR MY LIFE. i know this. and i am excited. please also lets not call it death. we aren't dying, i feel very much alive knowing we are being obedient and that i had the chance to do amazing things that were way beyond my dreams. i love you all and if you want i will still write you corny letters, if you send a stamp. love you, STILL, leanor

Here's the official word that's supposed to be on FIF's site (alas, it is down still):
Date: Mon, 16 Dec 2002 03:41:20 -0800
Yep, it’s true. It’s posted on the site, but I can’t figure out why the site is not up. Workin’ on that now. They announced this at the show in Denver last night.
Peter
From: Jonathan K
Hey there Peter, this is Jonathan (Jonk) from RudeCentral, and also of the board. I was wondering if you could confirm this piece of writing I found on the board which was said to have been on the FIF site (as the site is currently down). Thanks Peter!

Whoomp, here it is:
An open letter to all supporters of Five Iron Frenzy from the band.
Way back in 1996, just after our first album came out, we began to hear rumors that our band was breaking up. For six years we’ve insisted these rumors were untrue. We have always said that when we do decide to move on that we would make a very formal announcement about it and post it on our official web site to avoid such rumors from proliferating.
Here is that announcement:
By the end of 2003, Five Iron Frenzy will cease to exist as a working band. This means that after 2003 FIF will not be recording more songs or playing any more shows.
This was not an easy decision to come to, and we wish to thank you all for your incredible support since our inception in 1995. You have truly made this an amazing experience which all of us will remember fondly for the rest of our lives.
We did not come to this decision haphazardly. Every year we sit down with our pastor to pray about what the Lord would like us to do for the next year. We have done this since the beginning of the band and have always said that we would do what ever we think God wants us to do, even if that means stopping the band. After meeting with our pastor this year and spending several days in prayer and meetings, we have decided that it is time for us to move on.
Quite simply, the reason FIF will no longer be a band after 2003 is because, after much prayer, we feel like the Lord has called us on to other things. What those other things are will be as diverse as the 8 people who make up the band, but the point is that we all agree that this is what the Lord has told us.
The end of 2003 is still quite a ways off, and we have a busy and exciting year planned. Here is a list of things you can expect from Five Iron Frenzy in 2003:
*Our main goal in 2003 is simply to say “thank you very much” and give a proper good bye to you for supporting us for the past 8 years. Without you this would have all ended very long ago. We genuinely appreciate your support, and can’t say thanks enough for it.
*On April 22 we will release our B-sides and “funny song” album, which is tentatively titled “Cheeses of Nazareth.” We have been working on it for the past few weeks, and we think you will enjoy it. It will have some of our B-sides and some previously “lost” FIF songs that are really old, along with a lot of goofy songs that we are kind of making up as we go along (ala: “The Godzilla Song,” or “Kitty-Doggie”). This CD will be in stores on 5 Minute Walk Records.
*In early summer we will release a full length CD which will be our final studio recording. This album will only be available at live shows, starting (hopefully) in Mid-June. This is an album that we have big plans for (both the music and the packaging), and is one you are definitely gonna want to buy at our shows. Sometime in 2004 this album will be released in stores, but until then will ONLY be available at live shows.
* We will be hitting many major music festivals in the summer, including: Agape Fest (Greenville, IL), Cornerstone Orlando (Orlando, FL), Alive Fest (near Canton, OH), Inside Out Soul Fest (New Hampshire), Kingdom Bound (Buffalo, NY), Cornerstone SC (some where in SC), Purple Door (PA), and Lifest (Oshkosh, WI). For many of these fests, this will be the last time we EVER play in a 100 mile radius of the fest location, so you’ll want to check it out. (Also, there will be more fests added as the summer approaches).
*In addition to the above mentioned fests, we will also be performing at the original Cornerstone Festival in Bushnel, IL on July 4. We will be headlining the main stage on that night and helping C-stone to celebrate that fests 20th birthday.
* Starting in Mid-Sept and going through Mid-November will be our farewell tour. (Farewell as in this will be the LAST time you ever get to see us live). This will be a big one and will hit a ton of places. The tour is tentatively called “Winners Never Quit: The Farewell Tour,” and will be coming to a city near you (assuming you live in the continental United States.) Support acts will not be announced at this time, but it will be a good show, we promise. You will also be able to buy our final full length studio CD at these shows.
(If you are interested in booking this tour, please send an email to Booking@5minutewalk.com, particularly if you have connections to a college activities board that would be interested in this show.)
* The “Winners Never Quit” tour will culminate with a big show in Denver, CO in Mid-Nov, which will be the last FIF show.
*As previously mentioned, sometime in 2004, the last FIF studio CD will be released in stores.
No one ever knows the future, but if the Lord wills, these are our plans for 2003.
We know that the Lord blessed this band beyond our expectations. God used FIF as a vehicle to change many peoples lives (ours included). The important thing to remember right now is that our main goal has always been focused on something bigger than a band, something bigger than music. We have always tried to point to something that is eternal and unchanging. Bands come and go, and now it is FIF’s time to go. But our message has always been that God is an unchanging constant, and that through Christ one can receive peace, love, hope and faith. This is all we have ever wanted to leave people with, and we pray that God would continue to reveal Himself to us all.
Again, we can’t stress enough how appreciative we are of you for your support of us over the years. We hope that you will come and see us on our farewell tour so that we can say good bye.
God bless. Thanks for reading.
Sincerely,
Dennis Culp, Nathanael Dunham, Keith Hoerig, Sonnie Johnston, Leanor Ortega, Micah Ortega, Reese Roper, Andrew Verdecchio.

Five Iron Frenzy has announced that after 2003
(Mid November, specifically), the band will cease
to exist.
This is not a joke; nor a rumor. Five Iron
Frenzy will be no more, come this time next year
(Lord willing). They will be doing a lot of
things in the next year, and I will post their
open letter soon. (It is found on the site, but
at press time, fiveironfrenzy.com is down)
Personally, all I can say is that a great peace
is over me, and I feel great. This is sad news,
bu we have to realize that their growth, ministry
and musical inclination will not cease past the
band!
May peace be with everyone!

Matt: vocals
Ethan: all guitars
Adam: drums
That's right! This is the ONLY place you'll find
Adam Ferry playing on a studio recording with the
Supertones! (he once was a member, you know)
Thanks Ethan!
FIF's "Silly album" is now also a B-Side album,
and is expected to come out in Spring 2003, Lord
willing. (And yes, on 5 Minute Walk)
RudeCentral's GodSka news, as of
"WHAT????!!!" (Me, about 2 minutes ago)
Wow... it cannot have been three months... has it? That's about the same time I started working at Fred Meyers. Sorry.
FIF has their tour dates posted on their site, and the End is Near should be available on tour dates starting June 18th (Lord willing) and they are trying to get an internet deal going for those of us who can't fly to a tour stop.
Supertones are recording their worship album right now, and will make a brand new record this winter. Wow... that's a lot of Tone-age in a year! Not that I'm complaining, because I'm not. ...
Insyderz have a deal with Floodgate records. When does it come out? I don't know. This fall? Go to theInsyderz.com for more 411.
The Grand Incredible's album should be out July 8th, according to their label's web site. Speaking of which... go to BECrecordings.com 's downloads to hear a truly awesome MP3.
Please tell me that you own both Cheeses of Nazareth and Light of Things Hoped for...?
Until sometime in the future, Lord willing, same Jonk time, same Jonk channel!
I would like to inform everyone that theInsyderz.com features "three exclusive tracks" which we assume will appear on their new album (whenever that comes out -- we have secured a interview with drummer Nate, which will happen sometime), and I can tell you that they don't sound that bad! It sounds like you're at a show at a club somewhere. In my opinion, that makes it sound real. It sounds pretty good! One of the biggest surprises is that one of the three featured songs is actually SKA. That's right! SKA!!!!
That makes me happy.
You know them. This was the band that gave us Scott Siletta, Eric Balmer, Luis Garcia & Adam Ferry. Ladies and Gentlemen... I give you PlankEye. The band is defunct, but find out what's next for each of them. We will interview Luis Garia (bassist/one of the vocalists as well as proucer/co-producer for three of their albums). The best part? You ask the questions! To participate, send questions to SuperJonk (@yahoo.com). Deadline is March 1st, so get them in quick! Oppurtunities like this don't come around everyday!
7:57 am
Brave Saint Saturn has an mp3 from their new album (scheduled to come out March 25th, 2003). You can find it on their MP3.com homepage; just go to toothandnail.com to retrieve the addy. From what I've heard, people start freaking out about how good it sounds... !
Our Grand Incredible affiliate sends very exciting news! Visit http://www.oocities.org/superjonk/gi.htm
The Supertones are currently Seeing Spot Rock (that makes no sense... sorry) with Reient K and others. Check dates to see when they're near you.
The Supertones hope to record another album by the end of summer 2003. Dan reported it could possibly be more funktified rocking, ala' Hi-Fi. Ethan has recently indicated that it could be more "ska", through the means of dancehall and rock steady music.
Instead of giving first producing choice to Steve Taylor as they did with Hi-Fi (Steve suggested Charlie and Brent; because he was busy with his movie project), the 'Tones are turning their attention towards Aaron Sprinkle (who recently produced the Grand Incredible's first disc ...this must mean that Matt and Ethan are very pleased with his work...). I'll take a stab and predict March 2004 (Lord willing).
Five Iron Frenzy has posted an FAQ for recent events on their fiveironfrenzy.com site.

RudeCentral would like to send news affiliate 'GodSka' very warm Birthday wishes! Here's to three awesome years thus far!
The first *ever* Grand Incredible fan/news site has been constructed by SuperJonk. Expect the on new addition of the "Fan Site" option at the RudeCentral menu soon, Lord willing!
Flight 180 has posted a new song on their site, found at Flight180.net.
January 2nd will be our 3rd anniversary (Lord willing)! To celebrate this, GodSka will be going back to the ole' HTML format! LiveJournal was a good home, but noone really utilized the "Comment" feature, and this is a better way for tracking statistics!
