| SEATTLE, WASHINGTON 2099 It plays out again and again in his mind. It is his own death. The man runs for his life, he's fought the good fight and this is the way they pay him back, with death. His own death, possibly a fitting end for this man, a man whose caused far more death in his lifetime than probablly any ten men together. Its all so vivid in his mind now. The SHEILD Agents never stood a chance, sending them after him was as good as Herod himself killing each one of them himself. Victory was his as he raced into the streets, until he heard the noise. A sound he'd never forget, never. They are Wave Spiders. Sent to do the job the SHEILD men couldn't, to elimanate this man once and for all. He knows its over at long last, the death, the pain of living when the ones he cared for are all gone, the pain of betrayal by his best and only friend. In a hot flash of light they all come to an end, or do they...... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jake Gallows is frozen by fear. His wife, no the wife of the man he's trying to be, is about to die. He has the instincts to jump up and give his own life to save her...but he can't. The memory flashes through his mind again, and again. These are the beasts that killed him. The ones that ended the pain and suffering of his life, but now they have returned. Their back to make his life hell once again. Mary continues to scream as the Wave Spider starts to snap at her, the others join in. Jake still frozen sees only his death, along with the haunting vision of the man behind it. Herod. "Your going to be my greatest weapon.....my greatest weapon..." His head aches with the pain of memories he thought gone forever. But as blood begins to flow from Mary's chest Jake can sit still no longer. He leaps from the bed and starts his attack. The battle has begun, a battle that will decide much in the future of this man. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Footsteps. That's it. The lonely sound of footsteps. Yet at this moment it is the most haunting sound this woman has ever heard, someone's in her home, and for whatever reason he starts laughing. "Come out, you know I'll find you anyway so get out here jammit!" The woman is scared to death, so scraed she starts breathing heavily, its a mistake she'll pay for with her life. "ahhhh....now I've got you, you glitch." The footsteps get closer until he's standing over her. His face is so blank of emotion and expression the woman thinks she's seen the devil himself. He produces a knife which he holds up to glisten in the moonlight. The woman slips back until she hits the wall and can go no further. "If you just sit still it'll be better, I'm going to help you don't you understand?" "Please...I.." The man becomes angry. "More whineing! None of you understand do you? My mother didn't understand, but you will!" The man slashes deep into the womans neck, she makes hardly a sound as her head is nearly severed. And again the man slashes into her chest taking the woman's heart. He walks off into the night laughing. Murder two, he's far from done. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- John daSilva arrives in his hometown. Its not much. No technological wonders will be found here. No amazing people who have the answer for the worlds problems. No but what he hopes to find is some peace and relaxation. Here in Columbus, Ohio. Actually, he thinks to himself, its not Columbus is it? Though that town expanded to cover this area the town's people never call it that. He remembers joking with his brother and father when he was young, they and the other townspeople just called it the middle of nowhere! No. He won't remember them, not now. But he should have realized coming here would make him think about them, and about that night when... No. he pushes it all back. He's here to relax and try to have a nice time and that's what he's determined to do. He spots a bar he remembers well... "Good ole Dan, I didn't think he'd still be alive!" John walks towards the bar, he needs a drink. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jake Gallows is in shock. Shocked at all that has happened, and all so fast. Yesterday he was a happy man, his life was finally becoming what he had always hoped for. And then the dreams, and now the Wave Spiders. It can't end this way for him. His death is not of concern at the moment. But this woman shouldn't be a part of this. Why did he do it? why did he try and become something he isn't? The Wave Spider shreaks in pain as Jake stabs into it with a hot fire poker. It leaps off of Mary who is still bleeding. the others charge and Jake is overcome by them. "Jim, help me...please..." "Mary!" The others jump onto her as she coughs up blood! The one Jake stabbed attacks him keeping him from helping her. They start to tear into Mary as Jake watches. "J....Jim" "NOOOOOOO!" He watches in horror as Mary is torn to peices by the Wave Spiders. Her arms and legs severed from her body by the beasts. He couldn't save her. At that moment Jim Craig dies forever. Its time for Jake Gallows to re-emerge! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Murder Three. This time the site is that of an elderly womans home but to him it matters not. To him their all the same. They all drive him into the same rage. Why will becom clear soon enough. But in the meantime he spots his next victim. An attractive younger woman. He watches her walking the night streets and nows she is next. He waits for the perfect time to strike as he leaves the home of the elderly woman. She walks behind Dan's Bar, the time is now! Inside John is catching up with old friends. They can't believe he's back. And at this moment neither can he. He sips his drink and Dan, much older than John remembers, walks up. "Looks just like his dad doesn't he guys?" The rest nod in agreement. "Oh come on Dan I don't look that much like him Peter was the one who..." There is a silence in the room until Dan leans over towards John. "I'm sorry John I forgot about..." AHHHHHHHHHHHH! A scream comes from the back. "You shocking glitch! I told you to keep your mouth shut!" the woman contiues to scream as she is cut repeadly by her attacker. John rushes outside. "Stop!" The man turns around and the sight of his face nearly kills John daSilva. "No it...its not possible........ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jake Gallows is nearly dead. The Wave Spiders attack him fully now. He sees the reamins of his wife. And he can't take it anymore. "Shock you all!!!!" he screams the words and as he does something happens. His eyes fill with fire and they burst! Energy explodes everywhere, until the whole area is nothing but a fireball........ NEXT ISSUE- Its the HUGE ONE YEAR ANNIVERSERY!!!! That's right its been one year since I launched this book.
