My Authors

sitemap
Amitav Ghosh: The Shadow Lines is an education for all. I feel reading it has somehow made me more Bengalee. And started my Ghosh addiction. The Calcutta Chromosome has rewarded me well. This is a link to his official website.
William Somerset Maugham: The short story in English at its best. Kept me wishing I was a colonial in Malaya for so many years. This is a link to the W. Somerset Maugham Center.
Oscar Wilde: In all unimportant things: style and not quality is of essence, in all important things style and not quality is of essence. The all time master of the epigram. Had he been born in Greece or Rome we would have read him in books of proverbs. This is a link to a collection of his works. Hope the motion picture measures up.
Arthur Conan Doyle: Classics are nothing but ancient popular fiction. Each of the Sherlock Holmes stories is a masterpiece in the art of the short story.

I now feel its rather a fruitless attempt to present all my favourite authors. I will try to put up new links as and when i can.

Here is a link to a page maintained by Harper Collins Publishers of writers who have an online presence http://www.fireandwater.com/authors/index.htm
