Lambs, you'd be surprised at the number of sporting
activities you can get up to in Tamworth, and that isn't
limited to floodlit lickabouts in Tamworth Park, or
The Stacey Community Centre with it's clay surface tennis
courts.

I've never played this course - okay
or any other come to that - but I'm told
by those in the know that the first nine
holes are excellent while the last are clumsy
and poor (whatever that means). 18 holes
6605 yards. Practice driving ground putting
green.

Tamworth Athletics Club:
Tamworth Athletics Club is based at
Tamworth Sports Stadium, which has a Spurtan
BS synthetic track. The club are independent
and do not receive any grants so to increase
revenue they hire out their large pavilion
which contains a bar and a function room
for private occasions.
Yearly membership of Tamworth AC for adults
is £17, juniors £10 plus a track
fee of £1.50 for adults and 75p for
juniors.

Priory Park:
Not for the faint hearted, these things
travel at 45MPH (72KPH) carrying your butt
just 1 inch (2.5 cm) off the ground. For
the more macho companies, Priory Park offers
conference facilities, with seating for
up up to 50 people. You must be over 16
to race, but the facilities are set-up for
beginners to potential David Coulthards.

|
Tamworth Skate Park:
Not the greatest park in the world
by any imagination but It does have a decent
sized halfpipe, a good few kickers, a range
of fun boxes and more rails than most. The
ground around it can be marshy after wet
weather but it beats being chased off the
Safeways car park by the occasional bored
copper.
