Um-el-Khair Association of Lugazi Muslim Women
Um-el-Khair Associatoion of Lugazi Muslim Women is an association of a group of Muslim women. The association's activities are carried out at Lugazi Town, Mukono District 45 km from Kampala, Uganda. It has a membership of 27 members. The association is registered with the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development as a community based organisation.

OBJECTIVES
1. To unite all Muslim women of Lugazi to know each other and to work together in the promotion of Islamic principals and practices.
2. To encourage Muslim women to study and practice Islam at work.
3. To promote the spiritual, moral and material welfare of Muslim women in Luagzi.
4. To encourage the training of Muslim women in different fields.
5. To support and uplift the welfare of orphans, widows and the elderly.
Islamic compassion to orphans

Um-el-Khair Association of Lugazi Muslim Women takes care of 50 orphans. This activity is carried out at Lugazi Muslim Primary School and Bulyantete Muslim primary School. Sponsored 3 orphans to complete secondary school.

The orphans are trained in:
1. Home economics
2. Tailoring

Besides, some orphans are assisted in payment of their school fees, provision of scholsatic materials and taking care of their health.

A madarasa class. Children study Islamic religious education during the evening.
