SMOKESCREEN
SMOKE SCREEN:
4 parts sugar to 6 parts saltpeter [Potassium Nitrate -Editor's note] (available at all chemical supply stores). This mixture must then be heated over a very low flame. It will blend into a plastic substance. When this starts to gel, remove from heat and allow the plastic to cool. Embed a few wooden match heads into the mass while it's still pliable and attach a fuse."

It is possible to make a colored smoke screen, but they have toxic chemicals in them, plus they’re expensive, so you have to really need a color to buy the chemicals… and since not many people like to breath arsenic I won’t give you the mixes, though you can find them on Http://www.google.ca, and I can tell you that because I know you won’t be able to buy the chemicals :)

Do the cooking with a kitchen oven, candles DO NOT work at all, and camping stoves are better but hazardous…

For containers:
Film cans work, but aren't the best because of the plastic and the small size. The best container seems to be small glass jars. Fuses are probably the hardest part, if you can use bought fuses

the hole in the smoke screen where the fuse enters must be large enough to allow the material to burn without causing an explosion. This is another plus for plastic containers, since they will melt and burn when the smoke material ignites, producing an opening large enough to prevent an explosion.

unless of course you want an explosion, in that case… a small hole is good…
remember to PLACE, not throw, as your container will break and it could cut your fuse, so if your running away from someone, light it then place it as you run… then change directions quickly to avoid them following you, maybe place one or two more as you make your escape..
And don’t leave ANY fingerprints on the container, maybe I’m just paranoid, but I always clean mine off with a good pure liquid bleach solution before I put any material in it…
Leather gloves are your friend… I don’t recommend leaving a glass jar in the middle of the street with your finger prints on it, just in case you accidentally cause a car accident or something…
