The media has, once again, gone to great measures to perpetuate the Kennedy myth. The plane crash that took the lives of three people and the events surrounding the crash, took on more of a circus atmosphere than simply the reporting of news. From the first reports of a downed or long delayed flight to the final"tributes" to every Kennedy who ever walked the face of the earth, the news channels did their best to leave a lasting impression with their viewers that ANOTHER great Kennedy had been lost and that we as a people were to grieve whether we wanted to or not. We were bombarded with every Kennedy disaster since World War II and constantly reminded that this family had suffered so much and that as Americans had a right to be spoon fed snippets of useless and unrelated information. These media journalists broke their own rules of reporting. I began to believe that cable news stations had turned into tabloid newspapers. CNN and MSNBC spent so much time eulogising "John-John" and the other Kennedys, I was wondering when the Pope was going to announce their sainthood. The events surrounding the plane crash were newsworthy but not for what was being reported but for what was not.
New York Has No Taxis
People of privilege sometimes take the lives of others and their own for granted. I don't pretend to know the mind of John F. Kennedy Jr. the night of the flight, but I do believe that this was a flight that should never have left the ground. The lateness of the hour, the lack of aircraft training, the urgency of the moment, all would seem to be logical reasons to change transportation. While it is probably very enjoyable to take a short flight on a small plane, considering the circumstances, it would have been much better to make alternate arrangements for travel. It was a life and death decision...and a wrong choice made.
People say that history repeats itself. I think that on this particular weekend, all Kennedy heirs-apparent should have stayed far away from any major bodies of water as possible. While all the media was encouraging this "national mourning" for another fallen Kennedy, the life of another young woman which had been stolen thirty years prior by the reckless and irresponsible acts of "Uncle Ted" went unnoted. Every Kennedy tribulation was mentioned except for a "small and minor traffic accident" that happened a few miles away from this event. While everyone who ever met a Kennedy was questioned by the media, every person who walked the streets of New York was asked their feelings, did anyone bother to ask the Kopeckne family for their thoughs or their feelings? Don't Go Near The Water
We all wondered what the cost of a "NO" vote in the Impeachment trial of William Jefferson Clinton would be. What would Clinton have to repay for the political backing of certain Congressional members? I am sure that "Senator Ted" was not shy in calling on the help of the White House to assist in the situation. While the Coast Guard and other military units continue to say they were "just doing their jobs", this "search and rescue" or "search and recover" was far beyond someone doing the usual job. Hundreds of small planes end up in crashes. How many of these tragidies make the local news, state news, national news, or international news? The people who died were just as important to their friends and families. Does someone have to be "famous" for the death to be tragic? Paybacks Are Hell
Is their a living soul who actually believes the ashes of John F. Kennedy Jr. are burried at sea? I am of the opinion that they entire "ceremony" was a grand ruse and the liberal media and company "ate it up". While the fact that John-John may have enjoyed his time on the water, the very facts around his death would truly eliminate it as a choice of a final resting place. The very idea is too ironic. As much as the Kennedy clan seem to relish...feigned for the most part...their respect for their fallen members, not being able to stand and have their photos taken at some grave site is just to much to comprehend. It is much more likely that the remains of J.F.K. Jr. can be found in one of the wine cellars of the Kennedy compound. There he would be safe from prying eyes and would be vandels. The ashes of his wife and sister-in-law were probably carried to their parents home in Connecticut. Since a "State" furneral was not available from John-John, the lavish "burial" at sea would have to do. The Wine Cellar
