Chapter 2

The next morning, Tay woke up very late. His eyes were puffy and red. He'd been crying all night. It was about 11am when he decided he was finally able to get up and get ready for his usual day. He went to open his top drawer to get some clean clothes, but stopped in his tracks when his eyes landed on a pic that had fallen off his dresser. It had been taken a year ago just when he'd turned 18. His best friend, Bob had been there. They were playing in the pool and Bob's mother had asked them if she could take a picture. Of course, knowing Bob too well, he'd said yes right away. It was one of the best days of his life. He'd had so much fun. They'd played soccer, basketball, street hockey and even went rollerblading around the city. He wished his life was just like in the old days, which in his mind would never happen again.

Ike came barging in the room looking for his shoes. He didn't even see Taylor was there until he bumped right into him "Ouch!!" He rubbed his head and looked up to see who or what he had ran into. "Tay? You're up? Good! I wanted to ask you something. I'm going to Sarah's house. Wanna join me?" Tay looked at him with a disgusted look. He'd hated Sarah since the first day he met her 15 years ago. She'd been Ike's best friend all along, and lately Ike had been going to her house way too much.

Tay shook his head no and went back to searching for clothes to wear. He took a pair of faded blue jeans and his favorite black tee and brought them with him down the hall to the bathroom. He took a long and hot shower and dressed up without even looking at himself in the mirror which was very unusual.
