. | Monster Madness ( by Sinister Stan Lee ) was published by the Marvel Comics Group (1972 -1973). The first two issues consisted mainly of full page photos with funny captions. With the third issue, an attempt was made to flesh out the content with reviews, columns and the like, but it was too little too late and the mag folded. The following year, Marvel again entered the monster mag field with Monsters of the Movies. |

Eerie Publications, producer of many horror comics magazines, released two Dracula / vampire movie mags in 1976 and 1977. Dracula Classic and Revenge of Dracula, along with Modern Day Periodicals' Frankenstein Classic (1976), covered their subjects, but added no new information or photos that the average monster mag reader hadn't already seen elsewhere. |

With the release of the 1976 King Kong remake came Kong: The Most Famous Monster Of All Time (Countrywide Communications Inc. 1976), King of the Monsters (Cousins Publications 1977) and King Kong (Sportscene Publications 1977). Comparing the new and old (1933) Kongs, along with other cinema apes, they were well done mags with a good selection of photos and nice cover illustrations. | |||||||||||||||||
