. A vast improvement over Marvel's previous movie monster mag (Monster Madness), with nice colorful
cover paintings (mouse over picture for artist). Most issues had a theme (Vampires, Werewolves,
Mummies) and featured good writing and photo illustrations. A horror comic was featured in some issues.
MotM should have lasted longer, but Marvel always seemed more interested in their comics titles.
"Super Annual Issue #1" is also marked Vol. 1  no. 9.
At least two books and a line of Aurora model kits also used the "Monsters of the Movies" title.

1974 - 1975
Publisher: Charles Goodman
Editor: Jeff Rovin

Though lasting only four issues,
Movie Monsters was an above
average monster mag for the period. With Jeff Rovin (later an
author of many film books and the novel "Return of the Wolf Man")
at the helm it was informative, well written and laid out and with nice
cover art by Greg Theakston and George Torjussen.
