January 23, 2002, the Dana Cafeteria was packed!  All the seats were full and some had to stand along the sides against the wall. Community members spilled out the front entrance onto the walkway.  We'd like to thank the entire Wiseburn community, that was able to make it, for caring enough to be there that night.  You're presence made a huge impact and said more to the County Committee than any presentation ever could.

The county public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, January 23, 2002.  This is the moment we have all been waiting and working so hard for.  It is IMPERATIVE that the community of Wiseburn be present and show our support and unity.  If you are able to make this meeting, please BE THERE!!  WE NEED YOU!

                                                  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On December 20, 2001, Citizens for a Wiseburn Unified School District held a community meeting to inform the community of the progress and the status of the unification effort.  A survey was distributed to those in attendance.  The survey's intention is to capture the wishes of the community concerning the high school to give us a better idea of what we all want as a whole.
In phase II, we must focus on UNIFICATION.  We want to keep the community's focus on the public hearings.  This is the phase we are at now.  It is crucial that we show the county that Wiseburn is united in the effort to unify and break away from the Centinela Valley.
We must show a few plans to the county at the public hearings.  The purpose of these hearings is to show that we are able to house a high school within our district.  The plans are preliminary plans.  They are a few of many possibilities.  This plan is subject to change based on the community's input.
Some parents are concerned about their 5th, 6th and 7th graders.  Dr. Brann has explained that when we unify Wiseburn, these children will be given a permit out of the Wiseburn school district to attend the high school of their choice until we solidify the Wiseburn high school plans.
FOCUS ON UNIFICATION NOW!
There will be plenty of time and innumerable options later.  We will have 5 years from the time we unify, to house our children in a high school in Wiseburn.  The community of Wiseburn WILL have a voice in the high school options when the time comes.
