I'm a firm believer that creative expression is both an intended and spontaneous incident that acts as a "fix" for our imaginative tendencies and also serves as a palet for our emotional/physiological well-being,hence the importance of traditional ceremonies such as the night chant, etc. which all use artistic symbology as a way to communicate with the Almighty. The notion that creativity can either serve a greater good or become in a sense unnatural(or sinister), seems to be the unwritten belief of all holistic-indigenous cultures(especially ours, navajo);chants being synonymus with spells(VERY much a generic term).Which makes sense in a most astounding way when you consider the implications of a negative thought and how its negativity could be amplified into a composition and how that compostion could in turn direct that into an immense measure of detriment onto whoever participates in its negativity. In other words if there is a ying to every yang, then "the age of Reason"in which we presently exist has a "yang" that includes everything we were taught to discern as impossible or supernatural and that those "impossiblities" which include the existance of both a Supreme Creator AND a Supreme Destroyer and all their servents both mighty and meek are long overdo to show their appearance in our lifetime. |
