biography

Son of an industrial consultant and a comic book artist, Emile Hirsch was born March 13, 1985 in Topanga Canyon, California. His television debut came when he appeared on an episode of Kindred: The Embraced at age eleven. He then went on to guest star on such programs as Sabrina, The Teenage Witch and ER, among others. Emile's first starring role was in 1998's Gargantua, a made-for-TV monster movie. A true risk-taker gifted with intelligence, Emile left television to focus on breaking into the film industry. He was soon cast in 2002's indie success The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys, propelling him to public and professional notice with his spectacular feature film debut. In his next film, The Emperor's Club, Emile impressed audiences again with his ability to match co-star Kevin Kline in screen presence, again earning high praise from the acting community. He is currently in The Girl Next Door, opposite Elisha Cuthbert, and will soon be seen in Imaginary Heroes and The Lords of Dogtown.
