Have you ever wanted to visit the United Nations and meet with representatives from around the world? Would you like to go to the top of the Empire State Building, visit the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and see a Broadway play? The Odd Fellows & Rebekahs are fraternal lodges which sponsor a trip to the East Coast each year for high school sophomores and juniors. To win the trip, students must write an essay and give a speech.

The winners will spend 2 weeks in July touring the East Coast.  This includes Niagara Falls, Washington D.C., Gettysburg, Philadelphia, and perhaps even Ottawa! Five nights are spent in downtown Manhattan. To learn the details of this program, click on the links at the left of this page.  If you want to compete, the first thing is an essay which is due November 14, 2008.  Please read "Basic Requirements", "Essay Information", and "Speak-off Information" very carefully.

Summer of 2009:
This information is specifically for the trip scheduled for the summer of 2009.  If this website has been left in place beyond July 2009, some of the information is out of date.

Marion, Linn, and Benton counties, Oregon:
This web site is specifically for high school sophomores or juniors who will also be 16 or 17 years old on August 1, 2009.  To compete in this area, students must live or go to school in Marion, Linn, or Benton counties, Oregon. However, this is extended to also include West Salem High School. If you have any questions about this program, please contact:
