OUR ORIGINS
The Finance Students Association (FISA) was launched in 1993 by the pioneer class
of the
Bachelor Of Commerce Finance option. The Finance option seeks to meet
the
ever-growing need for finance specialists like analysts, fund
managers, and
investment advisors. |
|
The core
courses of the Finance option equip the student with an in-depth
understanding of financial issues such as: financial management,
management of working capital, valuations and takeovers, investments and
research among others.
In addition, there are the skills in critical thinking, communication
(oral and written) and interpersonal skills. |
|
OUR PURPOSE
FISA’s most fundamental
role is to provide unique opportunities for its members to develop
themselves as future professionals. It is all about enhancing greater
vision, sharpening personal skills, encouraging responsibility for
others and developing leadership potential. A graduate who has fully
utilized all the opportunities of personal development that FISA offers
is definitely poised to make a positive difference in society through
his future endeavors. |
|
OUR ALUMNI
Our Alumni consists of
young upcoming leaders in whatever fields they undertake: a branch
manager in a bank, software vending entrepreneur, auditors, and market
analysts. Firms like Citibank, ABN-Amro, KPMG-Peat
Marwick, East African
Industries (now Unilever) and Proctor and Gamble have employed some of them. |
