| Words of Wisdom To The Class of 2006 |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| These are words of wisdom to the High School graduate, as a concerned and loving parent I want your ear for just five minutes. You done good son or daughter, no doubt and you have come to this fork in the road. One road will take you higher and the other just goes forward; both of them are sure, but are you sure which one to take? The answer is simple, unless yo daddy’s rich and your mother good looking and the both of them are still together and want you to stay home and live off of them forever, then stop reading this article and go back to sleep, you’re dreaming. If you graduated this year, take the high road of higher education no matter what it cost you. No money, go to the junior college and knock on their doors, they will take you by the hand and not lead you astray. I discovered some of you big bad mouth, bad attitude, know everything and going no where like a bolder falling down the side of a mountain are scared. Scared of your own selves, scared of success and the cost of success and you’d rather find some low paying job and buy a car or get pregnant and play house. Wise up. If you didn’t learn nothing your whole high school life, get this: YOU, yes you, can do better, even now. A female crab has over 5000 babies at one time, do all them babies make it to Red Lobster as crab cake delights? Heck no. S___t happens along the way and dem baby crabs get run over, killed in car accidents, eaten by bigger fish and shot during a drive-by intended for another crab while out partying with their hommies. But that ain’t you if you just give me five minutes inside your head. What is your deepest fear? It is your potential, possibilities and promise that you fear the most, what if I do make it and graduate from college. Kid, don’t let your personal inadequacies, failings and short-comings psych you out and punk you into thinking you ain’t smart enough for college. College is for dummies, dummy, that is why people go to school because they realize they don’t know it all. You’d be a fool not to go to college or any school of higher learning. Like to tag, go to DeVry, like to work on computers, go to I.T.T., whatever you like to do, find someplace to get your degree on and just do it. People invest in their future with higher education so they can get the jobs that will allow them to be able to own their own homes and drive Escalades instead of breaking into other folks homes and stealing other peoples cars. Are you down with OPP, I’m not. I want my own S_ _ T, that equals Stuff. Teresa Christian |
