*Appetizers & Beverages*
*Hot Cocoa Mix*
8 C. skim milk powder, 1 C. cocoa,
Combine ingredients & Store in a container.
To make a cup of cocoa, boil 8-ounces of water, add 1 to 2 tbsp of hot chocolate mix, stir well.
{If desired add honey to sweeten}.


*Party Mix*
1/2 C. yogurt butter, 1 tsp garlic powder, 2 C. unsalted pretzels, 2 C. Puffed rice, 2 C. Spoonsize shredded wheat, 2 C. unsalted peanuts
Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
Melt butter in skillet or wok, add garlic powder & stir. Add remaining ingredients & toss together. Serve warm.
{Makes 2 Quarts}
Vary the cereals, choosing ones which are salt free. Walnuts & pecans may be used in pace of peanuts. Peanuts are high in calories. One cup of raisins may also be added but, omit garlic powder.
Bake party mix 45 minutes & stir twice during baking.


*Orange Slush*

1 C. milk
1 C. water
1/2 lg. can orange juice (about 6 oz.)
1/2 C. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
12-14 ice cubes
Blend all in a blender until ice is chopped.


*Wassail*

2 qt. apple juice
1 pt. cranberry juice
3/4 C. sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp. allspice
1 sm. orange
5-8 whole cloves
In large crockpot, combine juices and sugar. Mix well. Add cinnamon sticks and allspice. Poke cloves into orange and add to mixture. Cook on high for 1 hour, then low 4-8 hours. Serve hot.


*Root Beer*
5 gal. water
3 oz. root beer extract
9 C. sugar
5 lbs. dry ice
Combine water, then extract, then sugar, and last, ice. Makes 5 gallons of root beer. Stir until bubbling stops.
