TWO IMMUTABLE THINGS

Hebrews 7:12 "For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law."

These words "two immutable things" from Hebrews 6:17-18 are describing how there are two truths, namely the old and new testaments, and these words are like saying they are deep knowledge as a lawyer could expound on a subject.
In this page you will see some differences between the old and new covenants, how they differ and what is changed and not changed between them.

(1) Sabbath: The old covenant guidelines for sabbath observance was changed in the new. Not actually that the old command itself is changed, but the legalistic requirement to be under it is changed. The sabbath is still friday sundown to saturday sundown; That is not changed. In the new covenant there is neither a new change of it being sunday; but each person has the liberty to worship God on the day and in the way they are convinced in their own heart towards God. The main thing is that we do not forsake assembling together in the name of Jesus.

(2) Deitary law: Under the old covenant there was restrictions on what you could eat or not; clean VS unclean. That was ordained to demonstrate significant difference in the old covenant between people of God and those not of God. In the new covenant, God opened up salvation to all peoples, and signified it by calling all foods clean; that which was previously called unclean, now he calls clean.

(3) Priesthood and Kings: Under the old covenant, a king was not to practice the priests office, nor the priests the kings. In the new covenant, God gives each believer the authority of both a king and a priest. We in Christ, are to take authority over evil and decree as would a king, and, to pray and seek God, and make godly declarations as a priest.

(4) Tithing: The requirement to give tenths is not the same in the new as it was in the old; This is a very detailed subject. Please go to the Tithing button to read about it.

(5) Images: The second command of the ten commandments is about how we observe the first most important number one command; To love God with all our mind, heart, soul, and strength, which is the first command. The second command tell us Not to make any image in the likeness of anything God made; no angels, no people, no trees or animals or fish or anything that he created in heaven, on earth, or under the water. We are instructed in the new testament numerous times not to do this still, for it is a backup of our relationship with God from the first command. We are not saved or rejected by the adherance to the ten commandments; We are saved by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus, Gods only begotten. But we are told in the new covenant that the old is there for our instruction . The things in the new that are mentiond to be different; they are changed. The things in the new that are told as the old; They are not changed. So often so many reason away this truth instructed to us in the new, saying that they do not "worship" those images. But Gods word simply told us not to make them, and said they are an abomination to him, and that if we take them into our house we are an abomination to him. Now because of Gods love and grace and patience, His wrath has been witheld from us; But just as it was in the old, when you became aware of a sin, you became responsible to do something about it; That's why in Revelations, It tells of God bringing rebukes to the churchs, and saying repent lest I come quickly. We need to humble ourselves before God, and not try to exalt ourselves by justifying our doing wrong. God is watching to see how you will respond to this. Those who can hear and are willing to comply; they are humble, God will exalt them. Those who can not hear because they have too many idols or were trusting too much in material items visable to feel close to God; Well I pray Gods mercy and patience for you, that you will come to hear from God on this and not ignor it. Please dont trust in the counsel of those who practice against Gods second command. Seek God.
