I owe my life to that Korat Hospital. When I was at NKP Apr67-68, one morning I
woke up from my mosquito net and my right hand pounding twice the size of the other.
Panic setting in I thought I was bit by a snake. Was sick as a dog and the Doc said
it was a scorpion bite.
After my tour at NKP went directly to Korat and while there really got sick with a
very high grade fever. I was touch and go there for many days. The Docs and nursers
attending me around the clock and I pulled out of it. On my medical records they did
not know what I had. After that I've never had a fever (knock on wood). But I do
salute all those great medics out there and really got to appreciate the work they did
while I worked with them as a "Radar type" (MASH).
