This was the wallpaper I kept as the desktop on my laptop out in Iraq.  The idea was to remind myself of what I have to do now and what I have back home to do it for.  But anyways, the pictures are of me and Stanford in Havasu; the whole data shop; SSgt Carney, SSgt Fox and myself; Sgt Tuttle, SSgt Fox, and Cpl Cunningham; the guys I went to Doha with; and then, my dogs!!!

Every once in a while, I'd be awake or not working long enough to pull my camera out and take a picture of the sunset.  While the colors in this one weren't as varying as some of the others, this one includes some of the setting we lived in.  I took this picture from inside of our living area, and you can see the comfort trailer (for showers) and the hesco barrier (for protection) in the foreground.  I believe that this was at the end of the first time it rained on us out there, explaining the uncharacteristic clouds in the air.
A field meet is an interesting spectacle, with about a hundred clumsy Marines trying to complete tasks which require a somewhat existant sense of coordination.  As you probably guessed, it was a lot of fun to watch.  Each section came, and was supposed to have a sign.  Yes, those are duct tape letters on old monitors and cpu's.  Yes, we are geeks.  But it's okay, we had a great time!
The trip out to Iraq was a lot of fun with now Sgt Tuttle and Cpl Cunningham on advance party with me.  We stopped in Shannon, Ireland, and Sgt Tuttle decided to be a smart ass and get a nice little smoke in under the huge no smoking sign in the terminal.  He didn't really smoke it, but that is a cig in his mouth.
