USS FRANKLIN CV13 ESSEX Type Carrier: Necessary repairs to make it seaworthy. Canniblized to effect repairs to USS LEXINGTON--Franklin damage too extesive return to States. |
TASK FORCE 38--Ships Damaged by Typhoon and repaired by the USS JASON were: USS COWPENS, USS HANCOCK, USS LANGLEY, USS LEXINGTON, USS WASP, USS YORKTOWN, USS CABOT and the USS TICONDEROGO. Repairs started 24 Dec and ships returned to forward area on 30 Dec. |
USS LEXINGTON CV-16 Damage on starboard side of Island Structure. Overhauled equipment from USS Franklin helped to complete the repairs in 14 days. |

USS Viburnun AN57--Net Tender: Hit Mine near the Bow. Steel put over wood hull, enabled ship to sail back to the states. |
USS Mazana AE-9, Fleet Ammo Ship: Rammed by a Minature Japanese sub in Ulithi Harbor. Parts of a Japanese body and pieces of shrapnal were found on the main deck. Repairs were made and this ship went out to sea. |
USS Colorado BB-15, Battleship: Damaged by Japanese sucide plane. Repairs made and ship sailed to the battle area. |
USS San Jacinto CVL-30 While fueling at sea during rough weather-both ships collided. Carrier was repaired in six days and departed for the battle area. |
USS Munson ATF-62, Fleet Tug. Major Engine overhaul required & Misc. Repairs. 17 Day availability. |
USS Taloga AO62 Fleet Oiler: Damaged by sucide Bomber. Was repaired and put back out to sea within 15 days. |

NOTE: The damaged suffered by all the above ships and the ships on the following page were of the same extent as were the Hancock and Randolph in different areas of each ship. The USS Jason Repaired 633 ships and completed 8,891 Job orders during the WWII Tour. The Men worked 3- 8hrs or 2-12 hrs seven days a week. |
