Deismaar: An impressive mountain, highest in the chain, upon which the final battle of the two-year long War of Shadow occurred, which itself lasted two days. The battle's climatic end is at point 0 of the Haelyn's Count calendar.
Magic: There are two types of magic: wizardly and priestly. Priestly is only available to paladins, rangers, and priests and constitute prayers. As elves do not have gods, they have no ability in this sphere. Wizardly has two forms prior to Deismaar; lesser and true. An unblooded human, or commoner has access to lesser magic, which is completely available through the first two levels of arcane knowledge, or the fourth circle, and illusions and divinations only castable above that floor.
True magic can only be accessed by blooded humans, and those of elven descent. This constitutes all magic. Blooded humans are currently restricted to the Lost. Bards can also cast magic, but only of the divination and illusion spheres, and a few elven songs for enchantments.
The Lost: Twelve men picked by Azrai to be taught true magic. This teaching has warped them into abominations.
Dark Men: There are two ideas of what the Dark Men are. One known to Sigmund Tjorkil and the other inferred by Captain Howell Bridger. Both can be found here.
