Format for posting:

USS Knight (optional)
Invasion: Earth (optional)

"Title"
name1
name2
etc...
othernames(NPCs)1
othernames(NPCs)2
etc...

If things get confusing, I will often add something to datetime stamp, and others will (sometimes) do so, too. Example

USS Knight
Ghosts, Gremlins, and Ghouls

Day 23

"Final Countdown"
Cpt. Bridger
LCdr. Stirling

Generally Knights try to keep posts in current sequence. I will often delay posts (as I am doing with 2 right now) until other important posts I know about are in. I'm still waiting for the startup post for the Knights' actions in Invasion: Earth to be sent, by the guy writing Poirot, for instance, and that is delaying other events...

We do not generally use player names on posts, but identify them by their character name. You may use other characters (player) in minor ways, but try not to speak too much for them, or make out of character decisions for them. An 'Aye' to a order from a superior is okay, and in general, after a while you'll relax into a pattern of responses. A lot of the Knight crew are a bit laid back in this regard (NOT the player running Jorges, just now, though ;) ).

For instance, I may write the whole sequence of -

Bridger suggested something physically impossible to his COO.

Entor smiled rather slyly, and indicated, "I only accept impractical orders, sir, not impossible ones."

which, since we know what passes, and I am leading continuity for the segment (sometimes, others do!), is okay. I'm also his superior officer, and we grant some leeway for that. This is a bit more of a feel-your-way approach than most of the sims on eGroups, though.

In a log where you need to use a PC, but need to be careful not to overuse, something the following might work.

She dumped him over backwards, and he flailed out, managing not to knock himself conscious or bang a critical switch. He managed to stay in his chair. "What was that for?"

Best in these cases to at least try to get a response from somebody. If it does not come back in 2 days, go for it, and see what happens. But do not try -

She shot him, and the horse he rode in on.

- unless you've both agreed to that. NPCs may be shot, but you will notice some of us have favorites (me: Santarro, Foucault, Bresh, G'Murnik, Emy Band'h). Generally nothing permanent is done to these characters, or those integrally involved in plotlines with them. However, longterm and underused NPCs such as Kala Davenport and Forge Tusaak (formerly both PCs, but abandoned) are both slated for the grave during this adventure. Tusaak is a planned action (Lawson) and Davenport is going to be whatever noble death suits me, the nefarious GM.

Basically, we do have rules, and we mostly follow them -- as guidelines.
