In the mission now labeled by the press as Borg-Gate, the Knight found herself in Dominion space, attacked by the Jem'Hadar. Spy Lt.(jg) Howell Bridger helped to save the ship and accompanied her from that time onward, joining her crew and eventually ascending to her Captaincy, becoming the fourth Captain of the USS Knight after serving under all three of her earlier commanding officers.
Bridger found himself the center of several arms of conspiracy, one that seemed to follow him around, and two others aboard the Knight. Two of these conspiracies centered around the psychocreative drug kironide, and the third was based around the origins of the USS Knight herself, which on investigation turned out to be strange indeed.
The threads of conspiracy, interstellar black markets, terrorism, rebellion, and madness run concurrently throughout the history of the USS Knight. In order to come to the heart of these matters, Admiral M'Botha Brian M'Benga, Director of Starfleet Intelligence, Psychological Warfare, has become de facto flag officer of Knight One, a special unit of starships and agents under Delta Grey authorization.
