History: John Michael Wayne May 26, 2351 in Winterset, Iowa (Earth). His parents were Clyde (the town pharmacist) and Mary Morrison ( a school teacher). The family had a beloved Airedale Terrier, named Duke, that the toddling John followed around. Soon friends and family began to call the dog Big Duke and John Little Duke, and from then on the nick-name stuck with the boy. As a rule, Duke did fairly well in school. He was a member of the football team, the debate team, and was in various school plays. Following his high school graduation , Duke wished to go to the Naval Academy at Annapolis, but was not accepted. However he was given a football scholarship to the University of Southern California. Here in addition to becoming the star quarterback for the university, John began his military studies, deciding after two years that his interests actually were geared to the stars. He applied to starfleet academy and received notification of his acceptance to the academy on his 20th birthday.

Working with determination, John advanced well at the academy, passing all his subjects but obviously excelling in the field of security. He graduated in 2374 at the top of the security class, although scholastically mediocore overall. Straight out of the academy John was posted to his first ship, the USS IWO JIMA, under the command of Captain Yakima Cannut. Here he served as second shift security for almost a year. By early 2375, however John was transferred to the Rayean sector, becoming one of several new security crewmen transferred to the tumultuous diplomatic StarBase Bravo security department. Following a two year stint on SBB, John, now Master Chief, was transferred to the USS Peacemaker.

John is basically an easy going, fun loving person. He respects to all beings who deserve respect no matter thier race, creed, religion, or customs. He is extremely patriotic and believes in the starfleet ideals. His word is his bond and he never gives it without giving it wholeheartedly. John doesn't look for trouble intentionally, but quells it when it finds him. His favorite security training holoprograms involve scenarios from the American Old West Era or the Terran World War II era.
