Personality:
Intelligent,
loyal and dedicated are the three main words to describe
Raine. She
very much believes in following any rules set down by
Starfleet and her Commanding officers, this loyalty and
dedication to duty borders on being pedantic.
Having grown up rurally isolated in
Australia
she has very little time
for people who don’t say what they want or mean straight
away. Tact
has never been her strong point.
Although she respects people and their ideas it
often comes across that she believes her way is the only
way and that she knows better.
History:
Raine
was found wandering through the fields on the Delany
Estate. No
one has ever figured out how she got there and her DNA did
not match any on known records at the time.
The Delany’s adopted the abandoned (lost?) child
in good faith. Having
raised her as their own – yet telling her that she was
adopted – she feels a fierce devotion to her family.
The
Delanys do not agree with modern technology, having read
history on how ‘farming’ used to be done in Outback
Australia
they rejected any
assistance technology could give them.
This found Raine tinkering with machinery and ideas
on how to make them more efficient without offending her
parent’s values. A
Starfleet expedition into rare resources found Raine
having a taste of the Federation that she lived under.
She soaked up the knowledge and by the time she
could enroll she had made her decision to leave the farm
and move to the Academy.
Her parents, although resisting the idea at first,
soon realized that they would have to let her go or risk
losing her forever.
Hobbies
:
Raine
has been playing Springball since a child (being the only
sport she was exposed to) and has been refereeing when
required since the age of 15.
Her other passion is for animals, especially
horses, which comes from spending her years growing up
with them.
