Born in the Scandinavian Provinces in
Northern Europe on Earth, the cradle of
humanity. His Swedish ancestry is
apparent both in his name and his
physical appearance: Tor looks like a
Viking from popular history. He is also
known to sometimes curse in his own
language. His father was a space trader
who took his young son with him on his
cargo hauler, thus teaching him the
spacefarer's trade from an early age.
One day, the Svensson family's ship came
under attack from pirates. It was only
the timely intervention of a nearby
Starfleet vessel that saved the lives of
both father and son. Young Tor was
impressed with the power of the
Starship, and decided that he would one
day serve on such a craft and help
others, much as he himself had been
helped. He entered the Academy at the
age of 19, taking courses from both the
Command track and the Operations track.
He also spent a few weeks training at a
Marine boot camp.
