Martin Cromer (b. 1810) 4. Martha Cromer (b. 1813) 5. Charity Cromer (b. 1816) 6. Unknown Cromer (b. 1821) Notes : He served in the Revolutionary War as a private in the Pennsylvania 7th Miltia. John and Catherine moved to Maryland and then to Rockingham County, Virginia. In 1788, John, along with his brother, Martin, appear on the muster roll of Captian John Herdman's Company No. 2 Militia of Rockingham County, Virginia. Moved to Kentucky about 1805 with Sophia and family. In 1821 John was granted land on Woods Fork of the Little Rockcastle River in what is now Laurel County, Kentucky (then Know County, Kentucky). In 1829 he moved to Harrison County, Indiana and sold his land to his son, David. In 1837 John was the subject of a lunacy hearing in Harrison County, Indiana. He died in April 1839 and is buried at Avery-Godsberry Cemetery in Blue River Township, Harrison County, Indiana. His tombstone reads: "A Revolutionary Soldier." I really have no information on him except that he was married. I think he was English but I am not sure, he could be from Germany. I do know that he had a son named John D. Cromer who was married to a Catherine Brubaker. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I got the information from my mother-in-law who had recieved this information from a certificate that she recieved after she paid to have our family history. That is all I know. |
