Notes:

John Michael was born in 1706 in Baden Germany. It is believed that he had a wife named Mary (?) in 1730. She must have died before he left Germany. John Michael came to America on the Ship Ship Cunliss in l752 with his 3 children: Frederick, 20, Jacob, l9, & Charlot, ll. They sailed from the port at Rotterdam in Halland and arrived in Charles Town (Charleston) South Carolina. They sailed under Captain Joseph Cleater. He petioned for 200 acres of provincial American land on November 4th, 1752 [Petion, Council Journal, Vol 20, Pt2, page 533]. John Michael was granted a bounty in the area known as Dutch Fork between the Broad and Sluda Rivers in South Carolina. Nothing is known about his parents. John Michael died in Newberry, South Carolina in 1771.
