Hema Vaidyanathan

Started her career in Bharathanatyam under Guru Smt. Vasantasena of Nrithyalaya, Mumbai, India and then pursued her tutelage under Guru Smt. Padmini Ravi. After her Arangetram in 1986 she continued to train for 15 years and participated in several productions of Pradhan Dance centre such as Meenakshi Kalyanam, Dasavataram, Ashtamahishi and Shakti in addition to giving solo performances at the Music Academy (Chennai), Pallavotsav ( Mysore), ICCR and Kinkini dance festival (Bangalore). Apart from participating in state level competitions she has been a part of many workshops conducted by reputed Gurus like Smt Kalanidhi Narayan for Abhinaya and Sri M.R.Krishnamurthy for Nattuvangam. After moving to the United States to pursue her PhD in biological sciences, she trained and performed with Guru Kalaimamani Smt. Ramya Ramnarayan under the aegis of Nrithyanjali dance school at New Jersey. Her most recent performance was at Middlesex High School, New Jersey. Hema strives to improve herself both by performing andby attending lectures and workshops on Bharathanatyam.
