Sangita Raghunathan

Starting her Bharatanatyam career at the age of 5, her mother being her 1st guru, she later continued her tutelage under Smt K.J Sarasa of Madras and Smt.Padmini Ravi of Bangalore and performed her Arangetram at the age of 10. She has many prestigious performances to her credit and has actively taken part in dance productions by her teacher Smt Padmini Ravi and through the Chinmaya Yuva Kendra.
Her achievements include being a graded artist from Doordarshan, Chennai, recipient of the 2 year scholarship for dance from the Central Govt of India and being the recipient of the Rangasurabhi Award for being the best dancer of the year ‘93.
She has performed in many places within India and in Germany apart from taking part in dance productions in the U.S conducted by Smt. Revathy Satyu, Director, Arathi School of Dance, Dallas TX, Smt Madhu Manjunath - Director, Vaishnavi Dance Academy, Midland TX, and Smt Radhika Ganesh - Director, Expressions Academy.
She is currently a resident of Flower Mound, TX and takes pleasure in teaching this art to interested youngsters through her dance school - Sanskruthi.
