3.22 Päättäjäiset OSA 2
KAUDEN FINAALIJAKSO
Buffy joutuu turvautumaan epätoivoisiin keinoihin, kun hän, Faithin tapettuaan, ei voi enää juottaa Angelille tämän verta. Angel puree Buffya pelastuakseen ja tämä päätyy sairaalaan. Naapuriosastolla makaa Faith. Elossa, mutta koomassa, ilman toivoa heräämisestä. Pormestarin tappoyrityksestä huolimatta Buffy selviää elossa, Angelin juotua hänestä. On aika ryhtyä sotaan, jossa ensimmäistä kertaa tarvitaan jokaikisen Sunnydale High’n oppilaan apua… Cordelia ja Wesley vaihtavat ontuvat (ja kuolaiset) jäähyväiset. Buffy tekee Xanderista aivainhenkilön tulevaan taisteluun nousevaa pormestari-demonia vastaan. Willow ja Oz löytävät hädänkin hetkellä aikaa lemmelle. Larry, Jonathan, Harmony, Percy ja muut Scoobyjen koulutoverit liittyvät mukaan tulevaan kamppailuun.
Valmistumisjuhla voi alkaa.
Dialogeja:

Cordelia: "I demand an explanation."
Xander: "For what?"
Cordelia: "Wesley."
Xander: "Uh - inbreeding?"

Buffy: "So, am I crazy?"
Willow: "Well, 'crazy' is such a *strong* word."
Giles: "Let's not rule it out though."
Buffy: "You don't think it can be done?"
Giles: "I didn't say that. I might, - but not yet."
Cordelia: "I personally don't think it's impossible to come up with a crazier plan."
Oz: "We attack the Mayor with humus."
Cordelia: "I stand corrected."
Oz: "Just trying to keep things in perspective."

Buffy: "Well, I'm going to need every single one of you on board. Especially you Xander. You're sort of the key figure here."
Xander: "Key? - Me? Okay, - pride, - humility, - and here is the mind numbing fear. What do I have to do?"

Cordelia: "Of course, that's it. We attack him with germs!"
Buffy: "Great! We'll corner him and then you can sneeze on him."
Cordelia: "No! No, we'll get a box with the Ebola virus and… and…. Or it doesn't even have to be real, we can just get a box that says Ebola on it and… uhm…chase him!
Everyone stares at her.
Cordelia: ”With the box…"
Xander: "I'm starting to lean towards the humus offensive."
Oz: "He'll never see it coming."

Oz: "We'll make it through this."
Willow: "Are you sure?"
Oz: "I sound pretty sure, don't I?"
Willow: "Yeah."
Oz half: "Then I must be sure."
Willow: "Is that just a comforting way of not answering the question?"

Buffy: "Oh my God. He's going to do the entire speech."
Willow: "Man, just ascend already."
Buffy: "Evil!"

Buffy: "If someone could just wake me when it's time to go to college, that'd be great."
Oz: "Guys take a moment to deal with this: - we survived."
Buffy: "It was a hell of a battle!"
Oz: "Not the battle. High school. We're taking a moment --- and we're done."

VAARNAN henkilökohtainen mielipide jaksosta:

Ja näin, viimein, se on ohi. High School on ohi, taistelu on ohi, Faith ja pormestari ovat poissa, Angel on poissa, Cordelia jättää Sunnydalen, emme näe enää Wesleytä, lukio räjähti…
Buffy Vampyyrintappajan kolmas tuotantokausi on ohi.
Haluan nyt huomauttaa, etten arvioi tätä jaksoa yksilöllisesti, vaan teen sen sijaan pienen yhteenvedon tästä mahtavasta kaudesta, jonka aikana BtVS-sarja sai niin monia uusia henkilöhahmoja ja menetti muutaman todella tärkeän. Itseasiassa tämän loistavan kauden päätösjakson jälkeen, ehkä parhaiten lopullista arviotani kuvaavat pormestari Wilkinsin sanat:
”Tie tähän hetkeen on ollut pitkä. On ollut saavutuksia, iloa, hyviä aikoja. On ollut myös surua ja menetyksiä. Matkat päättyvät. Mutta mikä on matka? Onko se vain kuljettuja etäisyyksiä? Ei. Matka on kaikkea sitä, mitä tapahtuu siinä välillä. Niitä asioita, jotka muuttavat sinua. Ja matkan loputtua, et ole enää ennallasi. Valmistuminen ei tarkoita vain, että tilanteemme muuttuu. Se tarkoittaa että me muutumme. Mikään ei enää tule olemaan kuin ennen. Ei mikään.”
