Iguazu Falls - Massive & spectacular multi-tiered jungle waterfalls.  At over 70 metres high at the Garganta del Diablo (the Devil's Throat) and spanning over 2 kilometres along the Rio Iguazu gorge at the point where Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay all meet; Iguazu Falls is one of nature's must-see wonders of the world!

One morning we hiked a few kilometres on one of the lesser known jungle paths of Parque Nacional Iguazu in Argentina to a secret jungle waterfall and pool! (
photo right) We passed many huge 2-step spiders hanging right above the path! (photo below)  Jungle lore says they get their name from a poisonous bite that leaves you only 2 steps before you fall down dead! Luckily, we never found out if it was true.
San Ignacio Jesuit Ruins - Amazing restored ruins of the Jesuit Mission founded in 1609 and abandoned in 1767.  At its peak, San Ignacio had a population of nearly 4000.  The site contains such highlights as the huge cathedral (photo left), kitchen facilities, teaching area and many living quarters; all so incredibly well-preserved you almost feel like you have gone back in time!  The movie The Mission (with Robert Deniro) was actually filmed in this area near Iguazu Falls!
