Habitat: Forests and jungles in a mostly warm humid climate. Most life developed near the equator, while the rest died off in the cooler climate of the northern and southern regions. There exists only two continents on this planet that make up 1/2 of the planet's surface, the rest being oceans.

Special Traits: Their skin colorations are perfect camoflague for their environment, so without clothing they can blend into the background of the forests and jungles of their planet.

Cultural traits: This cultural is highly suspicious and cautious. Don't expect a warm welcome when you arrive. In fact, you'll find yourself alone for several hours, watched surreptitiously from the forests and jungles in a seemingly abandoned city complex while the Gelms determine whether you are a risk to them or not. But, when you prove yourself to them, they are a warm and gentle people. They are eager to hear news from offworld and love stories. They especially enjoy feeding you while you entertain them with stories, whether true or make-believe ones.
Other Information: Most scientists believe the Gelms are just coming into their advanced sentient stage, when in fact they have been for many generations. They have hyperspace capabilities and highly scientific advancements in medicine, psychology, and cosmetics. They retain a monarchy from the Age of Wars, that ended nearly 3,000 years ago when their clans were at odds with one another. But, now the monarchy consolidates the people who are still content with a single leader to administrate and enforce the laws they agreed to in the treaty that ended the Age of Wars.
