Chapter 17 Sonny looked at Carly sobbing about being a Cassadine. Surely he had misunderstood her. "Carly?" Sonny called, joining her on the floor. Carly laughed bitterly. "Can you believe it? Me, Carly Benson Morgan, a Cassadine. Wait, I'm a Spencer too. “Carly said as if that fact had just dawned on her. "A Spencer/Cassadine!" Carly laughed. "Carly, you’re not making any sense," Sonny said worried, he had never seen Carly so...he wasn't sure how to describe the look in her eyes. "Guess who decided to pay me a visit today?" Carly asked angrily. The very thought of Bobbie and her lies made Carly’s blood run cold. "Johnny told me that Bobbie had visited and you had an argument of some kind," Sonny replied still confused. "Yeah. Bobbie decided it was time that I knew who my father was. Stefan Cassadine!" Carly exclaimed, as fresh tears washed away the old ones. Sonny didn't know what to say. He opened his mouth a few times to speak but close it quickly, not finding the right words. "The thought is a mind blowing one, isn’t it? A Spencer and a Cassadine making a ‘love child". It left me speechless too." Carly whispered ,before looking into his dark eyes. "Sonny, I will understand if you can't forgive me but I want you to know how sorry I am for all the awful things I’ve said and done," Carly said closing her eyes. She knew what needed to be said but she wasn’t sure if she was brave enough to say it. "Carly..." Sonny said but Carly stopped him from saying more. If she didn't say it now she might never get the nerve up to say it again. "It was easier for me to blame you, than to admit the truth," Carly whispered so softly Sonny wasn't sure if she had spoken at all. "What truth?” Sonny asked, his heart leaping into his throat. He had been hoping and praying for this day for a very long time. "That I have feelings for you, Sonny." There she said it, finally. "Feelings that scare me," Carly admitted. "Because of Jason?" "Yes, Jason is part of the reason. You made me feel something that I never expected to feel and I got scared. I mean, I loved Jason and he died and I promised myself that I wasn't going to ever let another man into my heart like that again,” Carly explained. Sonny didn't say anything. He needed to let her say the things she had kept buried so deep for so long. "There your were so damn determined to love me and I hated you for it. All I wanted for you was to go away and leave Michael and I alone. But you just had to keeping on loving me. Even when I was mean and hateful to you, you stayed right by side,” Carly said as her emotions overtook her. She hid her face in her hands. Sonny had tears of his own in his eyes as he walked to her. He moved her hands, making her look at him. "You love me?" "Yes, I love you Sonny. I just hope you still love me,” Carly whispered. "Why wouldn't I?" Sonny asked. "Because of who I am. I'm Stefan Cassadine’s daughter!" Carly replied sadly. "Carly look at me," Sonny whispered, touching her chin bringing her eyes back to his own. “Carly I love you. It doesn't matter who your father is. I'm in love with *you*! Who your parents are doesn't change that!" Sonny said as he kissed away a tear that ran down her cheek. "I love you!" Carly whispered before kissing him passionately on the lips. Sonny moaned as her tongue invaded his mouth and her hands were already busy unbuttoning his shirt. Sonny broke the kiss to look at her. "Sonny love me," Carly pleaded. **EDITED** * * * * * Luke was pacing around the police station waiting for Alexis to give him news about Lucky. "Luke,” Alexis called. Luke turned at the sound of her voice and by the look on her face, Luke knew that his boy was in big trouble. "Well Natasha, what's happening?”Luke asked. Alexis looked at Luke. She felt sorry for him. Lucky was in very serious trouble and needed all the support he could get. But he didn't want to see his father. She was curious as to what had happened to cause such a rift between father and son, but now was not the time to bring it up. “Lucky has been charged with first degree murder," Alexis said, watching Luke’s face turn as white as a ghost. "What about bail?" Luke asked recovering from the initial shock of her previous statement. "His bail hearing has been set for first thing tomorrow morning," Alexis said sadly. "You mean my boy has to spent another night in this hellhole!" Luke exclaimed loudly. "Shh Luke,” Alexis admonished, pulling him along to a more private area of the squad room. "Look Spencer, if you want to help Lucky then pissing off the PCPD isn't the way," Alexis said, clearly upset with him. Luke knew Alexis was right but he would rather die a slow painful death than admit it. "So what am I supposed to do, Lex, just sit around and wait for the PCPD to railroad my boy? Well it ain't happening!” Luke vowed. Alexis closed her eyes and counted to ten. "Why me?" she muttered under her breath. What was it about Luke Spencer that always pulled at her heart string. She had never been able to refuse him. "Luke, I won't lie to you, Lucky is facing very serious charges and they have evidence against him connecting him to the crime scene. His prints were found on the murder weapon and the victim just happens to be his girlfriend's father," Alexis said, knowing she had her work cut out for her. "Natasha, you know Lucky wouldn't kill anybody," Luke said but moved closer to her so only she could hear him. "I taught my boy well, he wouldn't have left the murder weapon behind. He’s being set up and I would be willing to bet that this has something to do with your step-mama.” Alexis rolled her eyes and shook her head with disgust. "Will you just stay out of trouble. Please. I can only handle one Spencer in jail at a time!” Luke smiled. "Aww, I'm touched, you really do care!" Luke said, his voice dripping with sweetness. Alexis gave him a ‘why do I bother’ look. "Whatever," and walked away. She was almost to her car, when her phone started ringing. "Hello?" "Hey Beautiful." Alexis smiled at the sound of his voice. "Hi Jax." "Look, what time are you going to be at your apartment?" "I'm on by way now. I need some legal books there to get ready for court in the morning," Alexis explained as she pulled out of the parking space and onto the street. "Good. I'm on my way there too!" "Jax, I have a lot of work to do tonight in order to be prepared for court," Alexis said, letting him know that tonight wasn't the night for fun and games. "Okay, I won't keep you from your work for too long," Jax replied. "Bye Jax," Alexis said knowing he had something planned. She smiled as thoughts of what Jax had planned danced in her head. "Bye," Jax responded before disconnecting the call. He continued his walk along the dock, unaware that he was being followed. * * * * * Helena was holding Michael. He wasn't crying, just listening to her speak. Helena had learned to speak softly to her great-grandson. She picked up a picture of Stefan. "Michael, do you know who this is?" Helena asked. "This is your grandfather, Stefan, he is my son. But he has always been a disappointment to me. He never understood the Cassadine way. He was too soft, always being led my his...heart instead of his head." Heart wasn't exactly the word she had wanted to use but she figured she had better not expose the child to that kind of language just yet. "See Michael, your grandfather raised Nikolas. He’s soft and a disappointment as well. But you are going to be raised as a true Cassadine," Helena vowed, as Michael pulled on her medallion. Helena took the medallion out of his hand and laid the child back in his crib. "We’ll be home soon and you are going to love it! You know Michael is such a common name, hardly fitting for a Cassadine," Helena said, studying the child NOTE: If you would like to read this chapter in its entirety and are over the age of 18, please send me an email. |
