Chapter 3 Alexis looked at her watch. She was late. She wondered if he would leave without her. She stepped up her pace, as she walked into the airport. She looked around the crowd, but couldn't see Jax. She was starting to walk toward the desk, when a hand touched her shoulder. "Miss Davis?" Alexis turned to face the man. It wasn't Mr. Jacks. "Yes?" The man offered her a small smile, while reaching for her bags. "Mr. Jacks is waiting for you on his plane. My name is Kurt. I'm the pilot. Alexis walked on the plane and found Jax reading the paper and drinking his morning coffee. Their eyes locked briefly. "Mr. Jacks, there are some things we need to discuss before I can agree to marry you." He surprised her by agreeing. "You're right. Since we are going to married in a few days, don't you think we should be on a first name basis?" he suggested with a smile. Alexis wasn't sure if it was that smile or those sky blue eyes that made her heart skip a beat. "Alexis?" Jax was looking as her, waiting for her response. "Yes?" Alexis whispered, as she sat down on the couch across from him. "Alexis, call me Jax, please." "Okay, Jax," Alexis said while looking into his eyes. She completely forgot what she was going to say. His eyes were like the sea pulling her in. Jax thought he knew what she was thinking about and decided to ease her fears. "Alexis, as I said in my office yesterday, this is a business deal. I will keep my word and not bother your family's Company. All you have to do is be my wife in name only. To my father and the rest of the world we will be a happily married couple, no one will know it's just an act. When we're in public, we will hold hands and kiss like married couples do, but at home, we will have separate bedrooms." Alexis blushed. She was wondering about that but was unsure about how to bring up the subject. She was thankful he had. "Okay," was all Alexis said. "Would you like a cup of coffee?" Jax asked, while moving to the bar. "Yes," Alexis said with a smile and also walked towards the bar. Maybe this wasn't going to be as bad as she had thought. Alexis took the cup and their hands touched briefly. They met the others gaze and just stared at one another for a few moments. Jax moved to sit down on the couch he had originally been sitting on and Alexis was walking back to the other couch, when the plane hit some turbulence, causing Alexis to fall landing in Jax's lap. Their faces were so close that when plane hit more turbulence, her lips brushed against his. * * * * * Carly was pushing Michael, in his stroller, through the park. She had a feeling that she was being watched all day, but she hadn't seen anyone. Sitting down on the bench to rest, she spotted a man going behind a tree. She was right! Someone was following her. Carly was scared. Sonny was walking along path and when he saw Carly sitting on the bench he was about to turn around and leave, when she called his name. "Sonny!" "Carly, I had no idea you would be here.." Sonny started to explain when Carly cut him off. "Someone is following me!" "What do you mean?" Sonny asked, while looking around the park. "There's a man over by the tree," Carly explained, while pointing to the tree. "David, it's all right, you can come out," he said, looking at Carly. "What’s going on Sonny?" Carly asked angrily. "David works for me," Sonny said. "It's his job to watch you and Michael." "How dare you have me followed! I told you to stay away from me!" Carly screamed. "Carly, I know what I said but something has happened and I'm afraid you're going to be seeing a lot of me." "Like hell I will!!" Carly exclaimed. "You're in danger and so is Michael," he said. "Please, just listen to me." Carly didn't say anything, so Sonny spoke. "Moreno wants to make you pay for what happened to his son. "Oh my God!" Carly's mind flooded with memories. Flashback "Let go of me! My husband is going to kill you when he finds me!!" "Shut up!! Your husband isn't going to find you, at least not alive!" he said, as he pushed her into a room and closed the door behind him. "You know, you have a big mouth lady! I think someone should teach you a lesson." The man pushed her down on the bed and tore open her blouse and cut through her bra, leaving her chest completely exposed. He laid the knife down on the bed beside her and pinned her arms to her sides. "Please, don't! Please, let go of me!!" Carly begged. But he wasn't listening to her, he was focused only on what he had exposed by ripping her blouse. His mouth claimed one of her breasts, causing Carly to cry out in pain, as she felt his teeth sunk into the tender flesh. She was sobbing and begging for him to stop. She didn't even remember how she was able to free her arm or when she picked up the knife... End of Flashback Carly found out later that the man she killed was Moreno's son, Derek. "Where did you go? You seem a million miles away," Sonny asked but he knew she was thinking about that night. "What am I going to do...about Moreno?" Carly asked as tears flooded her eyes. "Nothing. I'm going to take care of Moreno. But I think it's best if you move in with me." Sonny was expecting her to fight him, but she just looked into his eyes and whispered, "Okay." |
