Chapter 6

Three men walked onto the elevators.  Once the doors closed, they placed masked on their faces, not wanting them to be seen by their victims.

Carly was lying across her bed.  She was so confused about her feelings for Sonny.
Feelings? she thought.  It was the first time she had admitted to herself that she even had feelings for him.

She looked around the room.  So much was changing and all she wanted, was to go home.
Home. She laughed, sitting up on the bed.  She was laughing because in so many ways, the penthouse felt like home.  And she had only been living there for a few days.  She couldn't explain it but it just felt right.

Tears fell from her eyes, as her thoughts focused on Jason.  She picked up the picture of him sitting on her night stand.  She ran her fingers over his face, as her tears hit the frame.  As much as she wanted to move on, the past wouldn't let her go.

Flashback

Jason carried Carly over the threshold.  Her laugher filled the air of their new home.

"Jason put me down!" Carly squealed between giggles.  Jason’s fingers danced up her leg, tickling her and made her laugh even harder.  He continued walking toward the bedroom.

"Stop it!" Carly admonished.  She started  wiggling her leg, trying to escape Jason’s fingers.  He kissed her on the cheek before setting her down on the bed.

"We made it Carly!" Jason whispered, dropping to his knees in front of her.  Carly nodded her head in agreement.  Tears filled her eyes.

"Yes we did!" Carly whispered, before Jason’s lips claimed hers in a hot, hungry kiss.  Jason pulled away suddenly, a solemn expression on his face.

“Carly, promise me something?" Jason asked.

“Anything," Carly replied.  She could never say no to those baby blues.

"Promise me that when I'm old and bald, you’ll still look at me the same way you do now.  Promise me that we will love each other forever."  Jason looked deep into her eyes.

“I love you Jason, " Carly said, just before Jason’s lips crashed down on hers again, his fingers working on the buttons of her blouse.  She whispered her promise to him.  "Forever Jason.  I will always love you."  No more words were spoken that night.

End Of Flashback

Carly’s journey of the past ended with the sound of breaking glass.  She jumped up and ran for the stairs.  From the top of the stairs, Carly saw Francis and David lying on the floor.  Both men were bleeding.

"Oh My God," Carly whispered as she ran to the men lying on the floor.  Frances was breathing.  David wasn’t.

Carly heard a noise and turned just in to time to see the man before he struck her.

Carly felt the pain.  Her eyes started to close but not before she saw another man holding Michael.  "NO!!" she whispered, as her world faded into darkness.

Las Vegas 3am

Jax and Alexis were lying in each others arms, but only Alexis was sleeping.  Jax was too worried about the morning.  He was afraid that she would hate him in the light of day.  Jax rolled over and looked at the clock once more before closing his eyes in sleep.
