Prologue The Gatehouse The gatehouse was decorated with flowers and candles. A bottle of Champagne was chilling, music filled the air; the room looked perfect. The only thing missing was her husband. Alexis looked at her watch again. It was after ten and he had promised to be home by seven. Another broken promise. Alexis blew out the last candle as the morning scene replayed in her head. Flashback “Ned, we need to talk!” Alexis said, catching him as he walked out the door. “Alexis, I don’t have time for this now!” He was angry again. “What happened to us Ned? When did you stop loving me?” Her voice was a teary whisper. Ned stopped at the door and turned to look at her. ”Alexis I love you,” he said as he kissed away her tears. “Look, tonight you and I will sit down and talk. I promise to be home at seven.” “Promise?” Alexis asked. “I promise you, nothing is more important than our marriage. I will be here,” he said on his way out the door. End Of Flashback Alexis picked up their wedding picture and threw it across the room. “Damn you Ned!” she yelled, walking out of the gatehouse and got in her car. She drove to the park and began walking aimlessly. She walked until she was completely drained, then settled on a park bench in the rain. She was thinking about the other man in her life, the one who was always there when she needed him. He always made her feel safe and loved. Jax was on his way home when he saw Alexis’s car at the park. It was pouring rain and he was worried about her. “Alexis, what are you doing out here in this rain?” he asked. She looked up at the sound of his voice. “Thinking,” was all she said. He picked her up and carried her back to his car. Penthouse 4 Sonny was sitting in the dark. When the door opened he didn't turn around to see who was there, he knew it was Carly. He closed his eyes, thankful for the darkness. He didn’t want her to see the pain her leaving was causing him. “Do you have everything,” he asked. “Yes, I’m all set to leave in the morning,” Carly whispered, as she felt tears threatening to fall. “Sonny, I’m sorry,” she whispered, not knowing what else to say. “Save it Carly,” he replied. “I need to tell you how I feel, Sonny. I love you. I’m sorry that you don’t feel the same.” “Carly I love you too. That’s not the problem and you know it!” Sonny yelled, letting his temper get the best of him. “I know Sonny. I’m sorry! It was an accident. She was my daughter too!” Carly yelled. “You weren’t watching her, Carly! She’s dead because you! You killed my child!” Sonny said, not realizing what he had said until he saw Carly’s face. Jax’s Penthouse Jax carried Alexis to her old room. It was the same as she had left it three years ago. He gently laid her on the bed, and went into the bathroom to get some towels. Alexis was sitting up in bed when he came back. He knelt in front of her. “What happened tonight,” he asked while taking off her shoes. “I was thinking about my life,” she whispered, as his hands moved to the buttons on her blouse. “In the rain?” “Why are you so good to me?” she questioned. “Because I’m your friend and I love you,” Jax said as she slipped out of her wet blouse and into one of his shirts. Jax looked at Alexis, knowing something had happened between her and Ned. It wasn’t the first time he had found her crying. Every time he did, he wanted to find Ashton and hurt him for hurting Alexis. “What did he do?” Jax asked without looking into her eyes. She looked at him. “He was too busy to remember our anniversary.” “I’m sorry,” Jax said. “I’m not,” she replied. “I was trying to remember what happiness feels like, and now I do,” Alexis whispered as she kissed him. He returned the kiss, pushing her back onto the bed. General Hospital ER Tony was in the ER, when Monica Quartermaine approached him. “What’s going on?” she asked. A car wreck. A man and a woman, both in bad shape,” Tony said. Just then the door to the ER opened, and Hannah Scott was wheeled in. “Oh My God,” Monica whispered as the second victim was brought in. “It’s Ned!" Jax’s Penthouse Jax pulled backed form Alexis. “Are you sure?” He needed to know she was sure this was what she wanted. "I want you,” she whispered as her phone started ringing. "Aren't you going to answer that,” he asked, handing her the phone. Shaking her head, she turned off the phone. “No,” she whispered, kissing him passionately. All thoughts of Ned floated from Alexis's mind, as she got lost in Jax’s arms. |
