The sirens are a type a sea nymphs.  They have the arms, head and chest of a woman, with the tail of a fish can also transform themselves into human figures.  The siren, unlike its mermaid cousin are not as shy as they appear.  They enjoy sun bathing on the beaches and singing towards the ocean.  The siren, according the Greek Mythology had the most lovely and hypnotic voices.  It was said that in Homer's Odyssey, Odysseus had his men tie him to the mass and had him plug his ears so that he wouldn't be tempted by the sirens' song.  It has been known that they lead ships to shallow waters where they often hit the rocks and sink.  They are beautiful women who lure sailors to their deaths.  Though they are not evil creatures.  To them, this can be considered a game, but they do love to sing.  Their voices carry through the valley on any misty night.

Though in mythology, Demeter had transformed the sirens into half women, half birds because they didn't interfer when Hades came and abducted her daughter, Persephone, not all of the sirens had been caught.  The few that escaped had scattered and some had found refuge in the lake of the Valley.
