VF-27 Scoring System |
Back |
Here is how the scoring system we use in VF-27 works. It is recommended that you print it out or save it to disk so you will have it for a reference. * SORTIES: Each time you take off it is a SORTIE. We have three + "Official Sorties" on squad nights but more can be flown if you are not out of lives. * DEATHS: You get 3 lives at the beginning of each squad meet. You can fly on these three lives as long as there is a member of Command Staff present. If you have used up your three lives and still wish to continue flying you may do so. However you will not be allowed to continued scoring for that night. * AIR TO GROUND: On Strike, Bomber or Transport sorties deaths are NOT COUNTED. Kills & Assts. during these sorties ARE COUNTED though and will be added to your squad nite score. Be sure to report them. * LANDED: If you return and safely land your A/C at a base or carrier it is counted as a LAND. * DITCHED: A safe wheels up landing on land or water where the pilot is not killed. If you ditch and are killed in is counted as a DEATH. If you ditch in enemy territory it is counted as a CAPTURE so you want to get as close to friendly territory as you can before ditching or bailing. * CAPTURES: Same rules as DEATHS. * BAILED: Same rules as DITCHED. * KILLS: 1 for each enemy A/C shot down. * ASSIST: Part credit for an A/C kill. 2 Assists = 1 Kill. You can only use the assists you score that squad night. They do not carry over to the next squad meet. List the number of Assists in your report - Command Staff will convert them to kills if you have enough. * BEST STREAK: This is what is represented on the web page by the kill flags beside your A/C. It is the number of enemy A/C shot down by you. If you are not killed or captured 3 times during a squad meet your kill streak will increase and keep climbing with each plane you shoot down. If you are killed or captured 3 times during a squad meet you score will end at your last highest level and you start over again to better your last longest streak. Any kills or assts you earn during Special Event Scenarios will also be added to your longest streak. If you have been killed or captured 2 times during a squad meet you may want to think about quitting to preserve your streak. You don't have to but that is up to you. * MISC: Also list any guns, buildings, ships, etc. destroyed as well as any Strike, Bomber or Transport sorties. * DISCO: Report it when you Disco on a sortie. Doesn't count against you in anyway, just bad luck. * NOTES: Immediately after the squad meet send your scores, unless directed otherwise, to your Division Leader. He will forward the scores to the C.O. It doesn't take that long. Do it while it fresh in your mind. YOU HAVE TWO DAYS TO GET YOUR SCORES TO COMMAND STAFF OR THEY ARE NULL & VOID. We work on the "Honor" system with scoring so try and keep the best records you can as you fly so you will get what is due you. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To make it easier on the scorekeeper, forward your report like the example below: DATE: PILOT: SORTIES: (Number and type) LANDED: (On the carrier or at a land base) KILLS: (Type and pilot if known) ASSTS: (Who got the kill if known) GROUND TARGETS DESTROYED: (Number & Type) DITCHED: BAILED: CAPTURE: (also counts a death at the same time) DEATHS: DISCO: LCDR. Andijg is the temporary Official Scorekeeper for VF-27. If you have a problem with your scores or a question about the system please direct them to him but remember, HIS WORD IS FINAL in this Dept. GOOD LUCK AND GOOD HUNTING HELLCATS! <S>! |
