So, we get to Whittier
exiting off to the right when the nice lady on the navigation system says,
in about 1 mile, exit of..., its kind of funny to think how many times
Jonathans been going off on the same exit, but still has to use the
navigation system? :). But anyways, we head to his house, and Jonathan
says: "You guys thirsty? Want to stop by McDonalds and get a drink or
something?" And then I say "We're going to your house why don't
we just get drinks there." and he's just like Oh Yeah. -_-. So we get
to his house, see his Ford F150 is on the driveway. We go, and I run into
the bathroom because I need to take a dump. Then we talk with Jonathan's
dad and he doesn't want us to take the truck...because he needs it to take
it down to some store....excellent. We have to take his Cadillac
CTS to the place :(

cousin Jonathan's Cadillac CTS on the driveway or his dad's house. |
We get to the land and park the car. Pacman decides to
change his pants outside the car on the street publicly I don't know why!
:/ but, yes. We are all in sneakers except I believe Jonathan. And then me
and Pacman decide to bring our spring mp5's to protect Jonathan on this jungle
excursion. (At the time I didn't even think it was jungle, I
though it was a big piece of land that was desert-like.) we climbed to the
first hill after going through the gate. Huge, filled with small trees and
thickly overgrown brush. in 2 valleys. One main valley which was where we
were going. We head down a system of Z formation paths made by Jonathan's
chef?, Jonathan, and his dad.
There is a pretty
promising place. Near the bottom of our descent, there is a concrete
"platform" that looks down onto the big flat. A suggestion by
Pacman was King of the Hill. One team
attempts to hold the hill while the other tries to take it. The only
problem is the flat is completely overgrown except for a path cut
by chainsaws and machetes. The path is about 2 feet ~ 5 feet wide at torso
level in most places. the path is more like a dried river so its a bit
hard to run on. Unless you'd like to find a way to run around in thick
overgrowth you'd stick to the path.
Beginning our
little trek, Pacman who is leading says OW! and complains of leg pain but
keeps moving, then I say OW and complain of leg pain. We look at our shins
and see nothing, but its stinging like crazy. We look back. Just see this
plant with no thorns or anything. Hmm...native inhabitants shooting
microscopic darts to ward us off? :/ But we move on, dodging flying tree
limbs from the person in front of you who isn't considerate enough to hold
them (JK) and leaping over logs, and TAR while
Jonathan helps me and Pacman over very slippery mud. Pacman starts to
complain that his shoes aren't white now, their brown; same with my former
black shoes, they're brown now from all the mud.
By the time
we are almost at the end, and the mud turns to a tiny river, Jonathan
tells us we can turn back now or go a longer but easier way around the
land. So we agree, walk with our legs apart against the river walls and we
make our way to the gate which surrounds his land (the end [long-wise] of
the land). We move right, and all I can see is this extremely muddy and
steep hill with a repelling rope.
Great! I didn't have a sling, I stuff my mp5 into my sweater pocket...and
begin to climb.
I get to lead
YAY! so we climb by holding on the gate at our left side and just keep
climbing, through those long green plants that cut you, through yellow
flowers, through wooden branches, and
Alien Testicles...as we called them. They were a bright green color. They're a bit
bigger than a tennis ball and some are even twice as big. they um, like to
hang right where our heads would be or where we would put our hands on the
gate. They are completely covered with spikes, and Jonathan says each tree
makes 1. very hazardous, who knows what those spike balls have in them. We
get to one corner and Jonathan proposes that we climb the fence (which has
the wire twisted and then cut to a sharp point to prevent climbing) and go
around without climbing. Pacman and I decide not to go with another one of
my cousin's plants and continue along the fence.
We start going
downwards into a rift. From there we have to climb 2 hills completely
overgrown with light plants. By the time we reach the rift, we have
another muddy hill to climb with a repelling rope which is sitting in the
mud. Jonathan goes first then Pacman. Then I go and pull the rope. I
happened to be on Pacman's right side, so the rope rubbed against his
white sweater, which he absolutely was so excited about. They made me lead
again and I started up again. While going through the millions of flowers
and plants, I almost put my hand on a group of 5 Alien Testicles. Well I proved Jonathan wrong :). After climbing the first hill we start to
climb the second and I start eating some
Warheads
I
got from Kevin. I pry it out of the little bag and chew on it. (Guess it
was old? and previously melted?) I give a couple to Shan the pacman and we eat them
while Jonathan is being a straggler.
We try to throw our rappers outside the gate, bounds of Jonathan's land,
but wind blowing towards his land made them land back onto his land...he
never noticed. B
But, we
finally got to the top, made our way back to the gate, lined the car with
old newspapers, and ate a dinner meal at Jack in the Box topped off with a
double fudge cake. Good stuff.
Thanks Jonathan
:). And
that was our afternoon.
