Project SRV Body - 5

Well this is about the final version, minus a few changes. The only things left to do are replace the bridge with a left-hand American model, add the decals (I've already ordered them and they're coming pretty soon), change the jackplate and the neckplate to gold counterparts, and replace the current nut with a custom bone nut for 13 gauge strings (as stevie mostly played). I put in the new assembly/pickups last week. For those who wonder where I bought them, I ordered a custom wiring harness from www.griblinengineering.com. These guys do amazing work! WELL WORTH THE MONEY! Don't waste your money on crappy Fender Texas Specials. Most people believe those are the pickups Vaughan used but they're wrong! Fender designed the texas specials AFTER SRV's actual pickups. It is believed that the man who overwound Stevie's pickups is W.C. VanZandt. Now do you see why I ordered their rock pickups?

Alright, so the back isn't exactly accurate. Just keep in mind that this was essentially my main testing ground on the finish. That's why I did the back first....nobody is going to look at it while I play. The front is what really matters when you're talking about an SRV Number One recreation.
