Irish Stout

(Guiness Clone)

 

 

Started:  13 Feb 98

Bottled:  20 Feb 98

 

Ingredients

Beer Makers Irish Stout (2 packs of yeast)

1 Kg DME

1 Kg LME

100 gms Chocolate Malt

250 gms The Right Stuff (Dry corn syrup etc)

 

Method

Bring Choc malt to boil in 3L water

Turn off heat - stand for 20 mins

Strain into fermenter

Add other ingredients

FG target: 1.018 FG reached: 1.023

22 Litres

 

Analysis

Very close to Guiness flavour but not as bitter or creamy

Excellent - we'll make it again ... and again ... and again ...
