Chapter 1

Hello...my name is Nick...

Scratch

S'up...dis be Nick...

Crossout

Nick here..

Groan  This was stupid, he couldn't believe he was doing this. Howie and his crazy ideas. Imagine him, Nick Carter keeping a journal. And for what? So that he could get in touch with his inner feelings and desires...bullshit. Nick tossed the pen down and flipped the notebook shut. No way, it wasn't gonna happen.

"How's it goin' Nick?" Howie asked, coming into the room.

"It's not. This is stupid Howie."

"Did you even try?"

"Of course I did!"

Howie walked over and opened the notebook. "You couldn't even write your name?"

"I don't know how to start! I'm not having a damn conversation with paper!"

Howie sighed. "Come on Nick, just try. It doesn't have to be a big deal. Pretend you're writing a letter and just write. I'm gonna take off. Give me a call later." Howie walked out the room and a few minutes later Nick heard the door slam. He looked down uneasily at the notebook. Sighing heavily he picked his pen back up and started writing.

Entry 1

Hey, So um...I'm supposed to write in here and I think is stupid.
Howie says it's gonna help me to get my thoughts straight and to deal with shit...
oops, maybe I shouldn't swear in here...screw it, not like it matters.
Ok so yeah...I guess that's it.
Bye  Nick

Nick looked at the entry and smiled. "Not too bad."

Keyana Johnson stared at the screen, concentrating on the account. She needed to hurry and finish, she was meeting her boyfriend and some friends for dinner in an hour and a half and she had to get home to change.  She quickly added in the notes she'd taken at her clients house earlier that day and prepared to shut down when her secretary came through the door.

"Miss Johnson, I just got that fax you wanted about the Morgansterns house for tomorrow."

"Thanks Lumien...just put it in my inbox please. And stop calling me Miss Johnson, you know I hate that. Keyana is fine, and you can head home whenever you're ready. I just need to finish a few things and I'm outta here." Keyana replied, never looking away from the screen.

"Yes ma'am, I mean Keyana. Ok, then I'll be leaving now. See you in the morning ma...I mean Keyana." Lumien smiled before walking out the door.

Keyana pushed the print button, whipped the fax out of her box and scanned it over. She'd been an interior decorator for about a year now. She'd started right out of college. She was young, only twenty-one but well experienced for her age. People looked at her and always thought she was older and were quite shocked when she told them her age.

She did the basics like picking out a layout and coming up with designs, but everything had to be approved by her manager since she didn't have much experience. Still, she was good and was gaining more trust and experience, and if all went well, this account would put her right behind the big shots at the company. She was surprised she'd gotten hired at Clarkson & Rivers right out of college. She'd gotten her four year degree and put her resume together and walked into the company, assuring them that they wouldn't be disappointed in hiring her. So she was as shocked as hell when she got the call asking her when she could start and she was even more shocked when she found out she'd have her own secretary.

Keyana grabbed the paper out of the printer and shoved it into the file. Stumbling as she made her way over, stuck it in her filing cabinet. She swiped the fax out and stuck it in her drawer, jumping out of her chair. Just then the phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Why are you still there?!"

"I'm leaving now Erin!"

"Hurry! We're supposed to meet in a half hour!"

"I know! Bye!" Keyana slammed the phone down and grabbed her coat and purse took off out her office.
