Chapter 47
"So where to?"
"I dunno, I thought we'd do a little shopping. I wanted to pick up some things for my house, is that ok?"
"Sure baby." Keyana smiled. She turned and looked back out the window. It'd been a few days since the whole blow out with Nick. She hoped she'd be feeling better, but she wasn't. When Shane had asked her out, she'd jumped at the opportunity to spend time with him. Things were still a little shaky and she wanted to do anything to regain his trust. Shane parked and they got out, heading into the store.
"First thing I need is a new shower curtain." Shane mumbled, leading her down the aisle.
Keyana almost tripped as they wandered down the aisle. Shower curtains, she'd used that for when Nick ran into his ex at, she stopped. She wasn't supposed to be thinking about that. She stood there as Shane looked through the various packages. She looked around to try to distract herself.
"Ohh I need one of these too, what do you think? Does it go with my walls?"
Keyana turned to see Shane holding up a soap dish, peach, the same color Nick had picked up before. She felt her eyes start burning, she brought her hand to her mouth.
"Ok I take that as a no." Shane chuckled, tossing the dish back down. Keyana smiled shakily at him.
"Do you mind if we leave Shane, I don't wanna be around anymore home accessories."
"You get tired of it I know." Shane smiled, throwing his arm around her and leading her out the store.
"How bout dinner? You hungry?" Shane asked.
"Yeah, I am actually." They headed over to a restaurant. Keyana looked down at the menu.
"I think I'll get the steak dinner, it's grilled with a baked potato."
Nick had made her a steak dinner, grilled it for her with a baked potato. Resting her head in her hands, she took a deep breath to stop the tears that once again threatened. When the waiter came, she ordered a salad. After dinner, they headed out the restaurant, they walked back over to Shane's car.
"Oh look roses, I know they're your favorite. Want one?" Shane offered, smiling at her.
"Rose?" She whimpered, wiping at her eyes.
Shane handed the vendor some money and handed her the rose. "Almost as beautiful as you." He whispered.
Keyana took the rose, a single tear escaping down her cheek. She looked up to see a green Durango happen to go flying by. He was everywhere. She sniffled, wiping at her eyes.
"You ok baby?" Shane asked, concerned.
"Wha? Yeah, I'm fine." She smiled sadly. "Do you mind if we head home, I 'm really tired."
"Yeah, ok." Shane sighed and they got into his car and sped off.

"Did you ever think that maybe you should start dating again. How are you gonna meet Ms right if you aren't looking." AJ asked.
"I met Ms right and I fucked her over." Nick sighed.
"It's not gonna get any easier if you mope around." Kevin pointed out.
"He's right man." Brian agreed.
Nick nodded, he knew they were right. He didn't want to date anyone, he didn't want anyone else.
"Look Nick, I got just the girl for you. Her name is Lisa. I can give her a call and you two can go out tomorrow. It'll do you good." Howie offered.
Nick looked up at his friends and sighed. He guessed he should at least try. "Yeah ok Howie, call her."
