Chapter 48
Keyana and Shane arrived at Domnick's the next night. She promised herself she wouldn't think about Nick anymore. She'd called Shane earlier that day and suggested going out to dinner again. She needed to make up for the way she'd behaved the day before. They waited to be seated. Tonight would be a new start for them.
Nick walked into the restaurant with Lisa. They followed the waiter and sat at the booth.
"This is a beautiful restaurant Nick. I'm so glad Howie called me." Lisa smiled.
"Yeah, it is very nice."
She smiled again and picked up the menu. Nick sighed heavily, staring down at his own menu. So far it wasn't too bad. He listened as the radio blared on, playing sweet sappy love songs. He thought he was gonna throw up and quickly grabbed his glass of water.
They ordered and Keyana looked around the restaurant. Nick had seen her there with Shane before, she wondered where he'd been sitting. Her eyes widened as a thought occurred to her. It was Nick who'd run into the waiter that time, he was the blonde haired guy. The realization caused her to start chuckling.
"What's so funny?"
"Hmmm? Oh nothing, just thinking bout something funny that's all."
"Well let's hear it."
"Oh it's nothing really." She smiled. Nick could always make her laugh.
Shane sighed. "You know Keyana, if we're gonna work this relationship out, we need to be honest with each other."
"It's just a joke Shane."
"I'm not talking about a stupid joke Keyana. I'm talking about us."
She sighed heavily, zoning him out. She wanted to get away.

Nick listened to the words of the song. One of his favorites, his thoughts drifted to her. He tried not to think about her, but it wasn't working. He cast a strained smile at Lisa and looked down at his hands.
She'd heard this song before, it'd always been one of her favorites. It sort of reminded her of Nick. She sniffled and looked away before Shane noticed.
When I get the courage up to love somebody new. It always falls apart cause they just don't compare to you.
Nick groaned at the lyrics. No one compared to her, no one. He'd never find anyone like her.
Keyana bit her lip, grabbing her napkin and dabbing at her eyes. This was terrible, she couldn't get away from him. He'd gotten to her, under her skin.

He played with his food, he couldn't think about anything but her. He missed her so bad, he couldn't be with anyone else, not when it was her love he needed.
She put her fork down, wiping at her eyes again. He loved her, he loved her and that's all she could think about.
Anytime I think about these things I shared with you, I break down and cry cause I get so emotional. Until you release me I'm bound under ball and chain. Reminiscing our love, as I watch four seasons change.
That night, he kept thinking about that night. Like nothing he'd ever experienced before. He wanted more. He wanted her.
She watched as Shane ate quietly, she knew now. Knew what she had to do.
This loneliness has crushed my heart, please let me love again. Cause I need your love to comfort me and ease my pain, or four seasons will bring the loneliness again.
