Chapter 33 "Ok, so what's your problem Nick?" "My problem is I don't know what to do. Illana shouldn't have to go thorugh this, it has nothing to do with her." "Well what is it you wanna know then?" "What do I do Kev?! What...I'm at a loss." "Talk to Vanessa." "I tried that, she won't listen." "Then you make her listen. Don't hold anything back, you have to let her know how you feel and what you're thinking. Although no one ever really knows." Kevin smirked. Nick looked at him blandly. "Seriously though Nick, you said you tried before. You must not have tried hard enough, because you didn't say what you should've and she didn't listen. A simple hello how are you is not good enough. You need to make her hear you. Lay it out on the line and let her know what her options are if she wants you back." "But that's just it Kev." "What?" "I don't...I don't know if I want her back." He'd been over it and over it in his head. It all kept coming back to the same thing. Was what they had worth holding onto? Could he go back into a relationship where he wasn't happy? Kevin stared at him. "So what are you saying?" "I'm saying that I've been second guessing our relationship, I have been for a while. I told Howie before, but I thought it would go away. It hasn't." "Were you hoping that it would?" "I don't know. I hadn't expected on loosing interest. The desire I had in the beginning, it's just faded. I don't know if it's worth it now." "Nick if that's how you feel, then you should really explore that. I think it would help if you talked to Vanessa about it. You'll know once and for all how you feel after you talk to her. Maybe you need some sort of closure." "I want to talk to her Kev, I do. It's just so strained though, It's like we're strangers now." "You're not Nick. This is someone you dated for two years, and no matter how bad things are now, you two were once friends. You have to try." "Why should I have to do it all though? It's like she doesn't care either." "Maybe she just can't, maybe she's waiting for you." "I'm tired of being the one that has to bring it up. I'm tired of looking like the bad one." "Then tell her that man. Let her know you're sick of it." Nick sighed. "Yeah I guess so. At least this way she can't say I didn't try and didn't put effort into trying to work things out." "Exactly. Give her something to think about." "Alright, thanks man. I appreciate it." "No prob, good luck man. Let me know how it goes." "Yeah ok. Later." "Bye." Nick hung up and stared at the floor. He had to do it. |
