Chapter 36
The next day, Nick was in the studio with the guys, laying down some tracks for their new album, but his mind kept drifting to Friday. He couldn't wait to see Illana.
"Nick..."
He'd get to see her in a bathing suit, the water rippling over her soft body.
"Yo Nick..."
He'd watch the water slide down her cool skin and then he lean over and lick it off...
"NICK!"
His head snapped up. "Huh? What?"
The four guys stared at him.
"It's your verse man." Brian smirked.
"Oh...ok."
"God man where are you?" AJ asked.
"What?"
"You're a million miles away." Kevin frowned.
"Oh, just thinking. Sorry bout that."
"About?" Howie probed.
"Ya know, the whole Vanessa situation."
"You never did tell what happened." Kevin put in.
"I talked to her, we fought and I walked out. I've had enough of stress."
"I never quite understood her." Brian frowned.
"You and me both." Nick shook his head.
"So what now?" AJ asked.
"I dunno, I move on and start over I guess."
"Got anyone in particular in mind?" Kevin grinned.
Nick laughed. "Maybe, but I gotta take it slow."
"Hell nah man! You gotta get her now! Strike while the iron's hot!" AJ yelled.
They all jumped.
"Damn man! I'm right next to you!" Brian moaned, rubbing his ear.
"Oh, sorry." AJ smirked.
Brian rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"So yeah, maybe you should move fast. Who's this girl?" Howie asked.
Nick looked at them and shrugged.
"You don't know?" Kevin frowned.
"Damn, doesn't even know who she is. You weird man." AJ shook his head.
Kevin reached over and smacked him in the back of the head.
"Ow! Shit! That hurt!" AJ moaned.
Kevin glared at him. "Come on Nick. You can say it, we all know."
He looked around and they all nodded, AJ sort of, he was giving death stares to Kevin. He sighed. "Illana, it's Illana."
"Word yo! I coulda told you that months ago." AJ stated, crossing his arms over his chest.
They all groaned.
"So what are you gonna do about it?" Brian asked.
"I don't know."
"Well you've already pretty much dated over the last few months. You need to take the next step." Howie reasoned.
"I don't know, I just don't want to rush her."
"Knowing Illana, she'll let ya know if you are." Kevin mentioned.
Nick nodded. "We'll see."
"Ok good. Now that Nick's love life has been discussed..." Kevin started.
Nick looked at him blandly.
"...Let's continue." Kevin finished.
Nick rolled his eyes and tried to stay focused. He couldn't wait for tomorrow.
